Meridian Willows Assisted Living was an older facility, but it was very nice. The rooms were smaller, but the amenities were good. The residents had different areas for those needing different levels of assistance. They provided good services. I saw the art room and I saw some activities. They had nice outdoor areas. The staff who gave me the tour was knowledgeable.

The Willows was very nice. I liked it, and my mother liked it. It had a lot of positives. It was sort of a Victorian home setup, architecturally, where you walk in, and it had a big covered porch. They also had flowers out, so you were kind of walking in a very inviting home. They had a bistro, and then you walk through into the dining room. It was very nice. They had large studio apartments. I believe they said that the residents need to be able to get down to the dining hall on their own. My mother uses a walker, so for them to say she has got to get down there on her own -- that was the straw.

My grandmother was a resident of The Willows for a few years. The facility was very clean. It was painted to look almost Romanesque inside, and there were many doors around the premises leading to outdoor seating areas. There was a large living room across from the dining room downstairs, which seemed like the most inviting room. A television played old movies, and there was a parakeet for the residents to attend to. (Some people tried to teach it how to talk, which never happened.) The quality of the food was always very good, but often too filling, and sometimes my grandmother just wanted to eat something in particular that was not being served. There were scheduled times that food was being served. The WIllows also scheduled a lot of events for the residents. There were movie nights, small trips to local stores, crafts, bingo, and singing events. I believe they might have gotten a nintendo wii for the residents so that they could play virtual sports as well. There were a few events per day.The staff was always very nice to my family. We came to visit at least weekly, sometimes more than that. The room that my grandmother stayed in was always clean and nice. It had a small kitchen area that I don't remember getting much use, aside from storage for small food items and for the sink. There was a bathroom, and a bed/living area, where we put a couch, a dresser, and a television (to name a few things).
