1970's facility that is in desperate need of updating.
Staff is miserable, many complained about the working conditions and their empathy toward the patients showed it. They just woke me up at 4:45am to take out the trash.....Little respect for the patients.
No activities what so ever. You can't even get a cup of coffee in the morning. The food is beyond horrible, i probably ate 1 maybe 2 meals the 2 weeks i was there.
Please don't subject yourself to this god awful place, run.

This facility is clean. However my mother had hip surgery, partial replacement and went there for rehab. Almost everytime I went there(once a day) she would be in bed. She wasn't eating well, however, she was angled in bed and no one helped her. She is 88 years old. She got very little rehab and ended up with an ulcer on her heel because she was in bed too long with the pressure. Not happy at all. They never asked her what she wanted to eat, she never ate salad or fish but that's what she got. Maybe that's why she wasn't eating. She also got pneumonia there, Which was the one thing we were trying to avoid. And I believe it was because of the lack of therapy (respitory, physical, etc.)

The people at Genesis Elder Care Center (Jersey Shore Center) were very helpful and friendly. The place was clean, and everybody was active. There wasn't anybody that was not being engaged. They were out on activities, it's just very open and warm and friendly atmosphere, and I like it a lot.

Staff is friendly, patient, and caring. Facility is clean and neat. Nurses are available when called and are very thorough. Activities are held every day for patients. Large patient cafeteria is at facility and food is decent per grandmother. Diets are strictly followed. Patients are allowed outside in courtyard and can be signed out with family members to leave the premises. Parking is always easy to find and has a convenient drop off spot at front door. Patients can borrow wheelchair for the day when taken out with family members.
