About This Community

Choptank Assisted Living is a stunning care home located in the beautiful and secluded residential area of Denton, Maryland. Our goal is to promote quality of life for all our residents. We provide superior care, with All-Inclusive pricing, in a loving, intimate home-like environment. At Choptank Assisted Living, our staff members are highly trained in working with geriatrics, individuals with special needs, and can aid those residents with physical, speech, and occupational issues.

At the heart of our resident-centered care approach is the Individualized Service Plan (ISP). Before move-in, our Delegating Nurse and Assisted Living Manger meet with the resident, the resident’s family and caregivers. Together, they build this comprehensive, customized program of care and service based on the resident’s interests, needs and wishes. Our Family Connection Program provides daily progress reports to authorized family members.

Nutrition is a key factor in senior health and wellness, and the Choptank Signature Dining program is a hallmark of how we champion quality of life for all seniors. Our residents enjoy three delicious, well-balanced meals served daily—prepared from scratch and featuring a variety of menu choices that support their unique nutritional needs. Healthy snacks are available throughout the day as well.

I toured Choptank Assisted Living and the community was very nice and clean. It just wasn't for me. Most of the people that were there have Alzheimer's and I still have my facilities and I can walk, drive, and do things like that. The staff was very nice and pleasant. The room that they have for me was nice, too. I saw where they ate, and it seemed nice to me. It was a nice area. I liked that the place was quiet and clean.

My tour at Choptank Assisted Living was OK; it's just not exactly what I was looking for. It's a home setting with 2 floors, so that's the first problem because my mom can't climb steps. Right now there are no residents, so it's not something I'm looking to get involved in. I'm looking for something with a little more flexibility on payment, versus this was a private pay that didn't take any insurance or Medicare. It doesn't give me any confidence that it's going to remain open because they don't have any residents so far. There needs to be some kind of chairlift or some mechanism to get between the first and second floor. The rooms are fine. The facility itself is fine. It's a nice house in a nice neighborhood. I spoke with the owner. Since they don't have residents, they have any staff. It's just a standard house with a living room, kitchen, dining room, and two bedrooms. It only has a maximum of four residents. The facility is clean. It's a relatively new house (probably 10-15 years at most).

I visited Choptank Assisted Living. We first did the virtual tour, then I was in the neighborhood, we swung by, and they went ahead and gave us an in-person tour. It's alright. They didn't have any staff there when we went and visit the place. They didn't have any residents yet but the house was nice. All the rooms were big. They got the biggest TV set I've ever seen in my life and the people, the gentleman, who took me through there, was very nice. One thing I did not like is they had stairs and my father had a hard time navigating the stairs, but they said that they were getting estimate to get a chair lift in, but that didn't happen while we're looking at the place. The stairs were the big issue. It's a family run place and the guy that was there, was the father of the woman who's actually the operator, so he didn't know a whole lot about what those are or what will be going on but he was still very nice. It was like a nice big home. It's a house, and so it's in a residential area, and it had a big wooden deck off the back of the house which was kinda nice. They were very accommodating.

We visited this facility before my mom passed, to send her here. We were above satisfied with this facility. The owner was very accommodating and willing to work with is with any of the needs that my mom needed. I would highly highly recommend this intimate space for anyone looking to send there love ones to this home away from home! They also have individual rooms or rooms with one roommate, both were spacious rooms! Very homey.
