Everything is very nice at Sunrise of Cohasset, but the rooms are a little bit older. The amenities seem very good. The cafeteria is right there in the main hallway, so it's very easy to get to and it seemed very well set up. The layout was not great, but it was good. I just thought it was very odd that the small refrigerators were on the ground because most people can't bend over. I think the refrigerator should be up high.

Sunrise of Cohasset is great. It's the only place we visited that didn't smell, the people are very nice, and overall we're very happy with it. They offer all sorts of things. My father-in-law is in the dementia unit, which is secure. They go out for dinner, or if the weather is nicer, they go to the beach. They try not to keep them in their rooms and keep them active during the day. They also try to keep them independent for as long as possible. The rooms are very nice. My dad's room is spacious and we're happy with it.

We were happy with Sunrise of Cohasset, but my dad has literally only been there for four hours and he was just too sick for it. They were professional, caring, and great though. It was very close to my parents' house, so location was very convenient, and they felt comfortable there. The place itself was like a fancy hotel, and it's really nice inside as well as the accommodations. There were lots of activities, and the people we interacted with -- particularly Michelle, the sales coordinator, and the nurse -- were really good and very understanding when it came to us having to make a very quick change to the decision we made in undoing the move. It looked so nice, they had a nice dining room, and you can tell they really take care of the place. On the memory care floor, you could tell it was safe and couldn't just go down the elevator by accident just in case a patient wandered off since you had to punch in a code. There are a lot of people keeping an eye out for confused residents, which was good. A lot of stuff was a la carte, which was the only down side, because it wasn't just one charge to get what you need.

We're very impressed with Sunrise of Cohasset. It is very home-like. My loved one has been there for a couple of months now. The staff has been very, very helpful. They were very helpful getting her set up and moved in. They have been great taking care of her. I would highly recommend them. It is just awesome there. They have various trips that they take the people on. They have doctors and nurses that can come in for medical appointment and medical issues for the people, so that they don't have to leave. They are much more than the assisted living she was at previously.

Sunrise of Cohasset is too expensive and too much like a nursing home. The surroundings are too much like a nursing home too. The people are very nice. It's been too long and too many in one day, and all of them are being mixed together. I just remember this is my least favorite out of the four that we visited. Nothing impressed me there at Sunrise. They need to modernize it.

Bright Side
I have been living at Sunrise of Cohasset with my husband who has Alzheimer's, for one and a half years. We have a two room suite on the monitered third floor, decorated with our own furnishings. I am free to come and go because of the caring, friendly staff that is always available to us and to twenty other residents on this floor. We have our own table in the dining room, complete with morning newpaper. We are content and happy to be together and our children know we are safe! Sunrise Senior Living is ideal for couples like us. The second and first floors are available to those couples or singles who require physical assistance or who have decided to, simply, live the easy life. The atmosphere at Sunrise is like that of a comfortably settled, family mansion ! Afternoon activities are planned throughout the week, motivating participation and/or entertainment.
