We went to Starling of San Jose. It was a very possible place. It was a nice clean facility. It seemed very, very nice. The staff were very nice. The rooms were adequate. It was a bigger facility; it had 66 apartments. However, we're looking for a smaller sized facility. They had several choices of rooms there. We probably would have gone with a studio.
It was a very, very nice place. If Mom didn't want to get up to go to eat, we could have someone that would go with her and help her get down there. They had a salon. It was a very good place.
Starling at San Jose was nice. It seemed to be well kept and the staff was very attentive. The grounds were very nice and they had activities like exercises and others. Some were in groups; some were for individuals. There were multiple dining areas. One traditional and the other one one was more like a bistro.
Starling of San Jose was very organized and the staff all answered our questions. My brother liked it. They were very attentive, gave us a tour of the room, and we had our choices of rooms to use. The place was nice, very clean, spacious, and everything. I could see the workers dealing with the residents too and they were very nice. They have a place to have tea, a place to smoke outside the area, and a patio that they could go to. Also, the location was very close for the family to make visits.
My parents were at Starling of San Jose for three years. They had a little apartment, and they had some assistance in the morning. They were there for assisted living until they got COVID, then they went into rehab, and they're still in rehab. It was a nice place. I wish they could go back. They just can't give them the care they need. The staff members were nice. They had all kinds of entertainment every day for them. They would hand out an itinerary every day. They had bingo, they had people come in and sing, and they would take them in their little bus if they wanted to go shopping. The surroundings were very nice. We used to eat with them. They had a nice dining room that was like a restaurant, and you can pick what you want. The food was very good.
My parents are preparing to move into Starling of San Jose. The visit was excellent. The dining area was gorgeous; you would think you were in a cruise ship. The rooms were very nice. I know there was a gym, plus physical therapy, and workout. The staff was very helpful. We got a 1-bedrom with a den and an extra half bath.
My mother lived in Starling at San Jose, it was very nice, and I hated that she had to move from there. It was new, really plush and nice as you walked in to a nice resort. Her room was bigger than the other place. She had a nice, full-size microwave, a full-size refrigerator, a counter, a bunch of cabinets, and a bar to sit and eat with two chairs. The staff was nice, they went through several chefs when my mom was there, and in the beginning they had several functions, the food was very good, they always had a brunch there, and on any Holiday, they had a barbeque. They had more activities that my mom went to, she played black jack, bingo, they had full parties, and they had a happy hour every Friday. They had a little store set up, where the play money she won from black jack can used to buy things she needed there, and it was nice, if you couldn't go out.
We visited Starling of San Jose and everything there was fine. The staff member who accommodated me did a good job showing me around. The dining area looked pleasant and I didn't see any issues. I saw a resident playing the piano, and that was nice. They also have a library and a beauty salon. The place was clean and looked a little fancier than some of the other places. They have an atrium with a piano, and the place had high ceilings, so that's what I mean by fancier overall.
Caring best describes Starling at San Jose. Everything is focused on providing the best day to day experience for the residents. The staff and facilities are incredible. There are always unique, engaging and entertaining activities that are well planned and executed by an exceptional group of people. All of the staff and management are very hands on and attentive the the specific needs of the residents. The facilities provide a wonderful atmosphere and plenty of recreational areas. The food and overall dining experience is wonderful. This community is truly home.
My father is in Starling of San Jose. It is a really nice and clean facility. The atmosphere is good and it doesn't look as rundown like a lot of the other ones we saw. The director was very professional, nice, and caring. The price was reasonable. It's near my mom's house, and they offer all the basic services we needed.
