Charter Senior Living of Gainesville seemed open, airy, and friendly. The residents were out in the courtyard, and others were watching TV. It's probably getting close to lunchtime, so I guess many of them were in their rooms at that moment, but there seemed to be some activity. They have a coffee breakfast, they serve lunch and dinner, and they have a specific one where you can request other food. They have several games, movies, and different activities. The staff was great. The menu looked lovely. They had a garden and an outdoor sitting place, and there were some residents out there. You can visit out there or you can sit out there. It was a great facility, and it was clean.

I was very impressed with Charter Senior Living of Gainesville. I like that it's a private room; it's not semi-private. The prices are very reasonable. The staff is very, very engaged. I could tell they have made upgrades and have maintained the place very well. The rooms have all been redone. They took the carpet out of each room because they retained bodily fluids. The rooms smelled good and it's clean. It's well maintained. I looked at both assisted living and memory care, and both looked good. The chef that is there has been there for 23 years. As for the place, they've repainted it. The carpets in the hallways are clean. The dining area is clean. I didn't see anybody's room, of course, but the room they showed me, which was empty, was clean. A one-bedroom studio, which does not have appliances, is $3400. All of the rooms are unfurnished so you have to provide your furniture and you have to provide a TV. They do provide cable though. They have a deluxe studio, a large studio, and one-bedroom apartments.

My mother-in-law has moved into Charter Senior Living of Gainesville. I really like them. They were my favorite. The people are nice, and the food is good. The facility is clean and well kept. They're getting ready to do renovations. They're going to do painting and replace carpeting and everything. The staff is very kind and very friendly, even the front desk people. We ate there and it was actually their Thanksgiving dinner and it was wonderful. My mother-in-law is pleased with the food. She's happy with that, and that's really important. I met the activities leader, and she was so great. They're expensive, but they are no more expensive than everybody else that we checked out. Value for money is equivalent to just about everybody else in town.

Charter Senior Living of Gainesville was a good combination of value and options. The staff was very good, knowledgeable of their location, and attentive. The menu seemed to have a really good variety. The facility was well designed and easily accessible. It's a good location.

I just did a walkthrough at Charter Senior Living of Gainesville, but it looked very nice, and it looked very promising, and that would be where I would probably want Mom to go. Everyone was very welcoming. The facilities looked very clean. There were clients sitting out front in rocking chairs, greeting us as we walked in, and they all seemed to be very happy. The rooms looked nice, and all of the rooms where they do their activities and whatnot looked nice. It appeared to be a good facility. They seemed to have quite a few activities for the clients that lived there. They have a bus available, hairdressers come in, and they show movies. They had a popcorn room, a big activities room, and a nice big courtyard where they have beautiful flowers. They can have a pet. It all seemed really nice. The staff was very knowledgeable and pleasant.

For starters none of the pictures accurately portray what it really looks like. Its so dirty, grey and mold ridden the seniors health would be greatly compromised just from that alone. They have a very strong scent throughout the place that seems to be trying to hide the smell of mold and unsanitary cleaning conditions. The staff is only there to get a paycheck. They have no interest in doing any real work, ie. Cleaning and real cooking and real human care. For the amount if money they charge and then charge extra for niceties its a rip off and they should be reported to government agencies. Which is what I plan to do after this

Charter Senior Living of Gainesville was very nice. Everybody was super. I was very impressed with the place. The facility was very nice and very clean. The dining room was just beautiful. No concerns at all. The staff member, Eric, was awesome. He was just a super, super nice guy. He answered all my questions. No issues whatsoever. I had all the information. They had a beauty salon. The outside area in the front and also the outside lobby area was really nice. They had a list of the monthly calendar of all the activities. The place was very homey.

Brookdale Gainesville Southwest was nice. The young lady whom I spoke with, Anna, was very nice and very knowledgeable. I saw two rooms. The dining hall was like a restaurant style. There is no pool, but they had a nice patio area, and the chef had grilled hamburgers and hotdogs for lunch. The grill was just out, and they have a garden. It's a newer building, too.

We went and absolutely loved it. They showed us the entire facility. The people were so nice, and we actually got to see that there was pretty much staff everywhere. It was very, very clean. You could tell that the people took time, and the employees actually care about their residents. As soon as you walked into it, it smelled like baked cookies in there. Their chef has been working in Brookdale for 20 years, and he has multiple choices for a main entree for each meal. They had gardening, games, TV rooms, and they had what they called story time. They had someone come in and tell folks stories and stuff like that in the memory care unit. It was very spacious for the residents.

It is a good place, but there were some issues initially. Someone forgot to come and take my sister to the restroom, but it's been corrected. Her apartment is great, and it was just newly decorated. There are activities. They have an exercise program, a TV room, bingo, and other kinds of games. The dining area looks very adequate, and the food has been satisfactory according to her.

My client is here. So far, everything has been great. I did go and eat with her one day and the wait staff in the dining room was not up to my liking, but other than that everything seems to be going OK. The activities were good. The fact that they get her up and make her go and eat is astounding. I love that.

I’ve selected it and we like it. The food and everything is good. The facilities are nice. We’ve had a couple of times where we had to ask them three or four times to fix a closet door that fell off the hinges. I don’t know if it’s lack of communication as far as getting my mother-in-law’s laundry service taken care of, but other than that, it’s a lovely place, and the people are friendly. They have some crafts and visiting people who bring service animals. Yesterday, they had miniature horses come to visit and several musicians sing and play piano and flute. They also have activities with ice cream socials, coffee, donuts, and popcorn. They do have yoga or meditation in the mornings and exercise in their big activity room. The rooms are very nicely sized. The bathrooms are very good. The ceilings are nice and tall, at least 9 ft to 10 ft tall, which gives you more of a spacious feeling.

If my parents had to go into assisted living, I would definitely go here. It wasn’t great, but it was good. It didn’t seem as upbeat, and I could hardly see anybody. They did have nursing services and some events. The price was a little higher, and that was one of our main concerns, too.

It was small with 60 beds for assisted living, but it's fine and very affordable. We were happy that the services were ala carte so you only pay for the services that you need which really was a plus for us because my mother-in-law doesn't really need extra care. If you need help with medications, you only pay for that, and if you need help for bathing and dressing, you only pay for that. You only pay your rent, which includes food, housekeeping and laundry, and then all of the other assisted services are as needed. My mother-in-law likes the food. It's good for old people, and they keep their menu pretty current. They change it and ask the residents if they want something different.

All of the rooms were very small, but everyone was very nice and wonderful. The salesperson that spoke with us constantly checked on us and asked what was going because we were still deciding on help for my mother-in-law. Overall, it was very nice.

My father-in-law is residing here. Everyone has been very nice and competent. I like that the rooms are new and very spacious. They also have a lot of activities, like exercise classes, and sometimes they take the residents out for lunch and shopping trips, too. The dining room is clean, and the food is very good. It is a great place overall.

It was very comfortable, and there were a lot of activities there. There was no shopping close by, but there was a van available to take you to shopping. They had three meals, and the staff was very good. They should just make it affordable for us people that don't have a lot of money.

It was a very nice place. When we visited the place, their rooms were very nice and comfortable. We would have plenty of room, but again I didn’t feel at home there. It was very clean. The staff was courteous. We were not able to eat there, but we looked at the residents who were eating and they all seemed to be very pleasant. It has a nice atmosphere, but their price was exceptionally high.

Very nice people work here. The community seems to be quite tight, and the residents enjoy themselves as well as they can with the situations that they're having. And it is reasonably priced.

It is good, but it's expensive. It's nicer, too. They showed us the model room. You can bring your own furniture, and there's nice closet space. They have recreation too, and they will provide vans for the residents to go places. The staff is nice and friendly. I talked to the lady in the office. I think they have a live-in manager. They have rocking chairs outside. I saw some of the residents go out and sit down and chat. It's pretty good. It's a home away from home.

Before my mother passed away, she stayed for a month. Generally, I liked the people. I thought they were nice and fine. I also thought that the atmosphere was nice as far as appearance. They did have many activities there. They had ice cream socials, Las Vegas night where they played a lot of games of chance. My mom wasn't able to take advantage of most of them because she was older and in a wheelchair. She wasn't that active physically and mentally. However, she did seem pretty happy there. She was well taken care of there. The only thing I didn't like was the food. I ate there sometimes and I thought it was substandard. The portions weren't very much and they didn't taste very good to me.

The staff had been very nice. I saw a one bedroom apartment and it was clean and spacious. I liked that there was an independent living area and memory care area in the building. It seemed a little institutionalized and smelled a little. They wanted to put him in the memory care and I thought my husband was not ready for that although he gets confused a little bit. Besides, that area smelled a little bit more and I did not want to put him there.

I really liked it. That's where my mother is going when she gets out of rehab. The people, accommodations, and amenities are very nice. The residents all looked happy, the employees were very pleasant and happy. I didn't see anything negative. I feel confident that my mother is going to get good care.

The staff was really, really nice. When I visited I didn't really go through the rooms but I did notice though when I first walked in the counter was dirty. I did look on floor and the edges in the hallways but I didn't see anything else, it was just the counter that was dirty.

My grandmother is a current resident. The grounds and exterior are very well maintained. She gets a lot of individual attention. The nice thing is that she has the opportunity to interact with other residents. She looks forward to her weekly card games. She is in a private room, which allows her to retain privacy but still have support if she needs it. She also likes the fact that they have transportation to attend church and go to the mall/grocery store. (Thank goodness she doesn't drive anymore).

I researched this property for mother. I choose this property because it is affordable and close to my job. The facility is very clean and staff is friendly and helpful. My biggest concern is that she is well taken care of. They motivate my mother by encouraging her to attend activities at the center. I am very impressed that administrator knows all the residents. They also have a chef on board and the food is very good.
