We toured the assisted living at The Brookfield at Fianna Oaks. It was a good tour. The staff was really nice, and had a lot of knowledge, and was very helpful. She showed me a little studio apartment and it was in tiptop shape. They took really good care of the place. The dining room was a decent size. I liked this place. It was small and it only had like 42 tenants there. It was just a little bit out of our price range. They had a TV room, a little arts and crafts room, and a nice little courtyard.

We’re very happy with where my mom is and she’s at Brookfield. Just almost any time she needs something, they hop right on it. Or if I need something or have a question about something, they just hop right on it. If they don’t have an answer immediately, they call me back with the answer or respond via email. I’ve eaten there as well and the food is very good. I guess it’s because it’s kind of like home cooking and it’s not bland or anything, unless you want it that way then they’ll make it that way. But it’s just very good and they basically will cook whatever you want and the way you want it. They have a menu to select from but they usually cook it and serve it the way you want. My husband and I have decided that if we ever have to go into assisted living, this is where we want to go.

Our experience with Brookfield is exceptional. The rooms are perfect. The staff is very caring. They treat you like family. The dining room is excellent, very user friendly, and the food is very good. They have their own chef. They provide just about anything you need. They play bingo, they go on day trips, and they've gone to concerts. On Christmas Day, they take them around and show them the Christmas decorations. They take them out to eat, they have exercise classes, people come there and do church services, and they provide a place for you to put a jigsaw puzzle together down in the foyer part of the building. They do all kinds of crafts. I'm in Mississippi, and my mother is in Arkansas, so I only see her when I go to visit, but that is a plus because they don't always know when I'm coming, and I've never been surprised with something that I wasn't expecting.

My mother was in Brookfield Assisted Living. It was a very nice facility. Everybody was excellent. The food was excellent. Housekeeping came in twice a day. I highly recommend it. The rooms were clean and spacious. The dining room had tables far enough apart for wheelchairs and walkers. The kitchen staff were wonderful. They would come out and ask how the food was, if anybody had any complaints, or if they would like to have something special made. They took them shopping, to movies, and wherever they needed to go. They had some piano player coming in and singing groups. The staff were very friendly.

Both of the facilities we visited were wonderful, but The Brookfield was newer and more of a hotel-type environment. It was very nice and a little bit more expensive. They have bean bag toss, bingo, puzzles, outings, and day trips. They have their barbershop and a separate activity room. Actually they had a little tournament that people from different assisted living areas compete at, so that was really nice. What I like best about this facility was the environment, and it felt more like a very nice vacation hotel.

I've visited this facility and possibly my uncle will be staying here soon. He is currently in a nursing/rehab facility and it's quite depressing for him. He is a double leg amputee who is severally diabetic and mostly deaf in both ears. There looks to be much better food here and there's a very friendly activity director. My uncle needs activities to keep himself busy otherwise his depression really kicks in. When we explained to him everything there is to do here, he sounded very excited. The amount of care the residents seemed to get was of a much higher quality than where he is now, which is the most important thing for our family. I highly recommend this facility.
