About This Community

Our specially trained staff provide care in a loving, Christian, family style atmosphere. Our standard of care is based on helping our residents attain the highest possible level of spiritual, emotional and physical well being. Our staff to resident ratio is very high. Being a smaller home, we have the same staff members taking care of our residents on a daily basis. This is not only very conducive for our residents but with that continuity of care it is easier to recognize changes in eating, sleeping, behavior or health issues. This is important because minor issues can be addressed before becoming more serious. We believe that quality of life and quality of care go hand in hand.

Our homes offer large private rooms and baths. Each bathroom is equipped with a roll in shower stall with many features to assisted residents at all levels of care. We have many common areas for our residents to enjoy together but also private sitting and dining areas so our residents can share some private time with their family, friends and guest.

We have a pharmacy service to provide all your medications without the need to make special arrangements to supply them. We have lab and radiology services available to help reduce the number of outside medical appointments our residents have to travel to. Our podiatrist can take care of any foot and nail concerns. We also have a hair salon located in our home to provide services if you would like. Our activity directors will keep their body active and their life full and exciting. Activities include memory building activities to help slow memory loss. We have a therapy team that can assess our residents needs. Any concerns regarding safety, transferring, walking or strengthening and endurance will be identified and addressed. Once therapy is completed and they have met their goals, our staff can follow their maintenance program to ensure they maintain their optimal level of mobility and safety.

My mother received excellent care at Ellen's Home Germantown South. It was very clean as far as what we could see through the window. She was very happy, and she was actually doing very well. Her heart just couldn't hold on to anything anymore. The food was very good and the staff was very good. We were very pleased with it. She was really doing fantastic and getting her strength and everything else back, but she had congestive heart failure. We never were able to get inside the facility with COVID, but she was very pleased with it and she said it was clean. Everybody was happy, and everybody took care of everybody. It was very clean and very well kept from the outside. She participated in their exercise program, their crafting program, and she played bingo.

I loved everything about Ellen's Home of Germantown South. The place was convenient, it was very clean, and the price was right. That would've been my first choice, but the only drawback was they only have a capacity of 40 clients at a time and they were at full capacity, so they could not accommodate us. The staff couldn't promise if it would be a three month or four month wait. It depends on who has passed away and who would move out. The place was very conducive. It's in close proximity to my house, which is on Mequon Road. It would be less than eight to ten minutes from the house and I could visit him often. The rooms were very clean and they had amenities like a small kitchenette. We could cook something right there for him, and he wouldn't have to always go to the dining room. They had community rooms. It was very homey. I met with the owner and the director of the facility. They had a hover lift there and that's what my husband would require. They also said that they had facilities or people who were capable and experienced to help feed him because he has Parkinson's. It was easy to get to and the outside was very well groomed. It's winter, and they were real careful. There was no snow on the ground and it was not slippery. It's easy to park. They had nice parking facilities for visitors.
