Tennyson Retirement Living is the ideal retirement community - located blocks from Warner Park (home of the Madison Mallards) and around the corner from Northside Town Center, which offers restaurants, banking, shopping, beauty/barber shop and day spa. The community is complete with walks, outdoor patios, and gardening opportunities. Tennyson Retirement Living offers a peaceful setting located in a warm and friendly neighborhood.

Tennyson Retirement Living is a state registered Residential Care Apartment Complex (RCAC) and state licensed Community Based Residential Facility (CBRF) offering assisted living services. The community provides both one and two-bedroom spacious apartments with full kitchens, personal bathrooms with walk-in showers and cozy studio apartments with personal full bath and walk-in showers. Apartments are bright and airy with lovely views. Common areas include large dining & social room for meals, parties and entertainment, a bistro hosting weekly Happy Hour, beauty/barber salon, library with gorgeous fireplace, private dining room for intimate family gatherings, gardens, patios, walkways and lovely lawns and landscaping. Three delicious, gourmet meals are prepared daily and snacks and beverages are available at all times.

Tennyson Retirement Living’s professional staff includes an on-site executive director, a full-time Resident Care Coordinator and on-call Registered Nurse, housekeepers, maintenance staff, life enrichment coordinator, chef, dietary aides, bus driver and trained caregivers available 24-hours per day to assist residents with personal needs such as medication administration and monitoring, bathing, dressing, ambulation and assistance with other activities of daily living.

Tennyson Retirement Living maintains an active social calendar offering opportunities such as games, cards, crafts, educational discussions and classes, baking club, outings, entertainment and spiritual enrichment. The community will soon have a comfortable bus with wheelchair lift, available Monday through Friday, to provide transportation to and from medical appointments (within a 20-mile radius), shopping, banking and social outings.

Residents of Tennyson Retirement Living live in apartments with private baths, are served three home-cooked meals daily, enjoy the convenience of housekeeping and linen service, and participate in daily social and recreational activities while receiving assistance with personal care and medications.

Both ambulatory and non-ambulatory residents are welcome. Professional staff are on duty around the clock, and a registered nurse (RN) is on call 24/7. Safety and security are further enhanced by an Emergency Call System (ECS) in each apartment that allows residents to press a button and summon a staff member. Residents suffering from any form of dementia do not receive an ECS button but do enjoy scheduled visits from our staff....some each hour, others more frequently.

We do not believe in a regimented, one-size-fits-all approach. Uniquely, Tennyson Retirement Living offers personalized care that is solely based on individual needs. Residents and their families discretely choose the level of care that meets their unique situations.

Tennyson Senior Living has always been a really nice facility with great communal spaces, beautiful views and new modern accommodations. Under the new current management there are some really caring and exceptional people. Here are three that I have interfaced with personally that provide excellent care of my parents: Julie - Activity Director. Julie is kind, compassionate and caring. She has put together a really great combination of fun, social and personal activities. (Movies, bingo, games, book club, happy hour, jewelry making, card playing, nail salon, crafts, and road trips.) Julie is energetic, smart, creative and actively recruits the patrons to participate in the activities. Her level of commitment and passion is readily apparent. I can't tell you how wonderful it is to see my Dad and Mom doing some of Julie's fun activities when she posts them on Facebook. (Check it out!) Julie is a major asset to Tennyson Senior Living. Thank you, Julie. Thank you for making Tennyson a warm, active and inviting home for our folks! You are a wonderful, vested professional and we are blessed to have you and the high standards that you achieve!!! Cathy - Marketing Director. Cathy is the most actively involved Marketing Director that we have seen at Tennyson. She is connected to the residents and has created a warm, inviting environment. Her energy is amazing. She has worked to warm up the dinner area with softer lights and has created venues that are warm and inviting. She and Julie have created beautiful seasonal decor and big events such as Casino Night and Candy Canes & Cocktails - beautifully appointed and fun-filled events. It was wonderful to hear all the residents singing Christmas Songs together and playing Jeopardy during a Holiday celebration. Thank you Julie for caring about the residents at Tennyson, and making it a place of enjoyment for all the lucky Seniors. Mary - RA. Mary is a kind, professional and highly skilled RA. She establishes a high standard of care and attentiveness. She is very thorough in her work and is responsive to family concerns and is compassionate toward the residents. Mary is an intuitive and excellent communicator. You know that she is keeping a close eye on the residents. She is vested in keeping a positive environment and responds immediately to special requests. I hope in the future that Tennyson Senior Living is able to staff more RA's like Mary so that the residents have even more consistent quality and attentive personal care. I must add that all three of these excellent professionals have personal, frequent and vested conversations with our family members and respond, pivot and apply changes to provide top quality care. What more can I say? We have happy, contented, quality care for our two dear and highly loved parents. Thank you Julie, Cathy and Mary! You truly are the best!

We toured both the assisted living and memory care of Tennyson Retirement Living. I liked it a lot. It had a good layout and lots of space. Where you come in from the front door off to the side is a nice area with a fireplace, and right on the other side of the wall is another fireplace and the library, and I thought that was very nice. I thought it was a nice layout. The only thing that I wasn't real crazy about was that my mother would probably be upstairs in the memory care area, so she wouldn't be able to go directly outside, she has to go downstairs to do that. There is a small area where you can go out on a balcony, so that's not so bad. The staff who welcomed me was very good. I met a few staff, and they seemed fine. The only thing that I was really happy about is that you couldn't easily get to an outdoor courtyard from the same level as on memory care. Otherwise, it's very nice. The appearance was great, it's just that little thing about the layout. It's a little less than ideal, but it was very nice. Cleanliness and upkeep were very good.
