I am a resident at The Gardens of Hartford. I can t be any happier.
The manager has an open door policy along with excellent communication skills which enable her to so!ve any prob!ems that might arise. She, also, is skilled at finding dedicated, caring staff which make The Gardens a wonderful place to live.
The food is great, in summer we eat home grown vegetables from their garden, and the food is homemade when applicable.
Our activities director is wonderful, she's a very hard worker and is always trying to accommodate the residence with creative ideas.
The care givers are efficient but still able to accommodate all the residents needs.
All the staff has gone above and beyond to please the residents here and make my stay here a pleasant one.

My mother-in-law is going to the Gardens of Hartford. They have personable nurses, there were lots of staff all over, and it was not a corporation run, it was not a big corporate run, and it had separate apartments. The apartments are clean, modern, and country elegant. They have everything, normal, structured activities, they have laundry, housekeeping, meds, spa, hair, you name it, it's there. Two nurses are in-charge of giving tours and admissions, and they knew everybody, so it was really nice.

My mom had lived there for 4 years as she just passed a month ago at 91. We chose it because it offered the residents a private "home" atmosphere vs. only a "room" along with the importance of it being affiliated with the WELS. Her windows overlooked a nice subdivision. There is a lovely community room that can be reserved for larger gatherings. It's bright and cheery. We started her out in a 2 bedroom on the 2nd floor - couldn't get any farther away from the dining room, but that offered her a chance to get some steps in and she was escorted there and back. We did eventually move her down stairs, so if you have to wait a little while for a lower to open up - big deal. What really counts? Quality of care or logistics? Even though she suffered from Alzheimer's, she was well cared for and felt loved. When at her funeral one of the staff members came in to pay her respects in absolute tears. She brought Mom roses and I watched her have a little conversation with Mom before leaving. As we went to clean out Moms apartment, we found that this young lady left us a lovely note stating how much everyone loved Mom and how she was going to be truly missed, but yet happy for her to be reunited with my Dad. That my friends, is priceless.

This is not the same place it used to be. It used to be a welcoming and pleasant environment when my dad was there and that was the reason why we moved my husband's aunt in. But since a change in directors, it's not nearly the friendly place it used to be. SAD.

We made a family decision, and my mother-in-law is going to assisted in the middle of this month. We have selected The Gardens of Hartford. We visited multiple facilities, and this was the nicest one that we all agreed upon. The staff was friendly and professional. It felt like a hotel and almost like a resort. My wife’s brothers and sisters were joking, saying they would like to live there as well if they could afford it. We had a good feeling all the way around. The price is right, and it seems a clear choice from everything else we have seen. I think the only thing that I’m not crazy about The Gardens is that it is 2-levels. Instead of it all being on 1 floor, my mother-in-law is going to have to use an elevator to get to lunch everyday. There is a hallway walk -- which is normal and probably good for her to have some exercise. But I understand a lot of the residents are on a waiting list to try to get to the main level instead of being on the second floor so they don’t have to use the elevator.

We just thought that they’re caring. When we saw the residents, they looked happy, and they were all taken care of. All of that was good. They have lots of different things, and the staff was helpful.

The Gardens is very beautiful and clean. It's an excellent facility. The staff was very nice and gave us a very nice tour. The rooms were bigger and very nice. They were actually like mini apartment type rooms and they had private bathrooms in the rooms. The dining area is very nice, open and spacious. They have a cook on staff. We have a lot of good choices in the area but we think The Gardens has a little bit more independence than what mom can handle right now.

My wife's parents are in Gardens of Hartford for about two weeks now. The place is bright and they like it there so far. They have a 2-bedroom and a big living room. They also get two meals a day.

The Gardens of Hartford provides and bright, clean, friendly and fun assisted living retirement community. The facility is very new, with great amenities such as a spacious dining area, fitness facilities, a library, private rooms to gather with family and friends, a beauty salon and gorgeous gardens and outdoor terraces. In addition, the facility provides transport to activities and even light housekeeping. Residents can choose from a variety of meal plans from three meals a day to dinner to light meal preparation in their own apartment. Furthermore, the facility offers different levels of assistance. This allows your loved one to maintain as much independence as he or she can, while insuring their physical, mental, and medical health. While all these great amenities definitely make The Gardens of Hartford sound like a great place to live, my grandparents love there because of the kind, caring, compassionate staff.
