Monroe Manor is a very nice place. The place was clean, it was modern, and had a decent size of rooms. The staff who assisted me during the tour was very informative. They had activities going, they had TV available and they had a van that takes you uptown. It was very clean in appearance and it was nice. It's located close to amenities. If you want to go to a dollar store, it was just down the street and if you wanted pizza, it was just a block away. It was nice.

The staff at Monroe Manor was very unprofessional. I asked to see the results of their surveys for the last 3 years, and she said " you can look it up online." That told me she wasn't very interested in sharing them with me. The memory care unit was substandard. I told them "This is completely unacceptable, I would never put my parents here." They showed me a room with a twin bed, and there was a shower curtain that was hung down in the middle of the room, with a toilet on the side of it, a wash area that should have had a vanity, but there was none. It was just odd, and it looked horrible. They needed to clean it up, and the private room they showed me was deplorable.

I was impressed with Monroe Manor; it's really nice. There are lots of activities and different areas divided up that my mother could go to. The people are friendly. They always have coffee on, so that when she has company, they can have coffee. It's really comfortable. The room isn't huge but my mother doesn't need a huge room because there are four or five living rooms on the floor. The staff seems very pleasant and helpful. They have a nice church area and a rec room that you can reserve for when your family comes over. The nurse giving us the tour was very informative, and we're very pleased with that. The place is right by a creek, woods out back, and had a patio where you can have a barbeque if you want to. It's very pretty.
