Walnut Grove Racine assisted living facility was one of our stops while looking at places for our uncle. The lovely exterior and grounds were well tended with nice trees, landscaping and tree-lined walkways. The residents can safely navigate the outer grounds for exercise. There were lots of nice sized communal rooms including a library, large room for parties and rooms could be reserved for private events. The exercise center includes daily yoga and aerobics exercise classes. The equipment is well maintained. The dining areas were really nicely sized and decorated, with plenty of air and light throughout. Healthy snacks are offered all day and into the evening, as well as whenever residents request them.The food we saw looked and smelled delicious. The menus all had great food options for all diets. The many planned activities included exercise classes, book readings and arts and crafts. The residents are also taken to many interesting cultural events in the region -- which hosts many art and music gatherings. Private living spaces were efficiently designed with thoughtful access to the things they need. The bathrooms had railings and safety seats. They can get help any time they need it and are checked on regularly. Extra care is taken for those who are less ambulatory. The staff was very attentive to all of the residents we saw and they appeared to be very content and well cared for.
