Columbus House assisted living facility was one of the places we visited while in the area looking at places to live for our uncle. We liked the way the exterior was designed, with beautifully landscaped and tree-lined walkways. The decor of the entire facility was very nice with comfortable furnishings. This facility had plenty of community rooms including a library, game and activity room as well as other large rooms for private gatherings and parties, which the residents may reserve for their own use. Private living spaces were nicely designed with plenty of fresh air and natural light. Seniors may safely navigate the lovely grounds for exercise. Also, the exercise center includes daily yoga and aerobics classes. The equipment is available with instruction as needed. The meals we saw looked and smelled delicious. The many menus had healthy food options for all kinds of diets. Healthy snacks are offered all day and into the evening, as well as whenever residents requested. They also take special requests from the residents and track which foods they enjoy. The many planned activities feature specially designed exercise classes and outings like book readings and visits to arts and crafts centers. The residents are also taken to many interesting cultural events in Kenosha and the surrounding areas including film, music, art and other gatherings regularly. The staff was kind and caring to all of the residents and It was clear that all of their needs are met and that they are content here.
