Amazing and caring staff. Beautiful and clean. The best assisted living facility in the Fox Valley!

Our family spent every day at Eastbrooke during our mother’s 4 month stay and we witnessed the following: The facility is understaffed and staff caregivers are not trained. The facility is not managed and resident care suffers. Staff can not answer any questions and everything was someone else’s job. I had to run to rescue a choking resident. There were no facility staff present. There is no RN in either facility. The owner is not on premise and does not communicate with staff or families. She makes empty promises and there is no follow through. This facility offers no physical or cognitive activities. Absolutely none. Mom’s teeth weren’t brushed and she didn’t receive her showers. None of the residents had received their showers. No one offered liquids between meals and they never took Mom to the bathroom through-out the day. Mom purchased a nebulizer that Eastbrooke lost and when it was needed she had to get another nebulizer. It was apparently found at the end of Mom’s stay there, but was never returned to family along with many personal items. Please love your family member enough to never subject them to the lack of basic care and the loss of all dignity received at Eastbrooke Manor.

My Mother was a resident here. In my observation, the facility is poorly managed and residents receive poor care because of it. There are many promises made, but none are ever kept – including things surrounding basic care such as taking residents to the bathroom and more. The owner is never available for residents or family needs, does not communicate with or train staff, and doesn’t know what she’s doing or what is going on in the facility. Residents do not receive any physical or cognitive activity. None. They are forced to sit all day/night in front of the TV or at tables in the dining room - with no interaction & no staff present to assist with needs. There is not adequate staff to care for resident needs. Basic daily needs are not met. Personal hygiene needs are not met. Housekeeping needs are not met.

The place is filthy! I don't think the bathroom in my mom's room was cleaned in months! Her bedding wasn't changed, no activities are done! The manager does not know what she's doing, no communication! Staff are not trained at all! No one knows whats going on, each one states its someone elses job!! Even though your told there is a Rn on duty, there is none!

Westbrooke Manor's rooms were much larger and the place was beautiful. However, the cleanliness was lacking with the floors, bathrooms, windows, and lightbulbs. They had a very large turnover of staff, and they're overworked. They don't provide transportation or outings.

My father is a resident of Eastbrooke and I am a frequent visitor there. I would highly recommend Eastbrooke as our experience there has been quite positive. The staff interact with my dad with warmth and compassion, even when he isn’t capable of returning the same. They understand. Although he is living with dementia, he seems as happy as ever and shares inside humors with many of the staff members. He is obviously well cared for from a physical AND emotional standpoint. In my observation, the staff is very caring on a personal, interactive level. He is free to move about safely and he has space to be alone or the option to be with others. The environment is like a beautiful modern home-not at all institutional-and he is free to receive visitors anytime. He loves the meals and he is able to obtain snacks anytime. We, as family, are always notified if problems arise and we have always been offered solutions when a situation is problematic-not just complaints. Knowing my dad is being cared for by dedicated, wonderful people gives me immeasurable piece of mind. The day I had to move him into a “home” was the worst day of my life, but the competent staff at Eastbrooke has made our decision to do so bearable, even comforting, knowing he is being well cared for. I’ve received nothing but glowing comments from the family and friends who regularly visit my dad there, as well. I am indescribably grateful for and appreciative of the beautiful souls at Eastbrooke for their gentle care for the guy who raised me! Couldn’t sing their praises enough!

I have a great aunt who is at Westbrooke. I wouldn’t recommend them at all because the staff doesn’t interact with her at all. I know she's blind and she's confused now, but there are different activities that she can do, but I've never seen her do things. When I visit there, I don’t see them interact, they just do their job and that's it.

My grandfather was recently a resident at Brookview Assisted Living in Oshkosh, WI. Immediately upon his arrival he was greeted by their staff in a very friendly matter. They showed him to where his room was and allowed him to even hang his Green Bay Packer's pictures on the wall to make him feel at home. The nurse who was responsible for my grandpa was extremely nice and got a long with my grandpa. She learned all of our family's names very quickly and began to refer to us by our first name. This made my grandpa feel as though he was dealing with someone on a more personal basis. Also, the residence had a common room where residents could meet each other and play games. This also created a comfortable living environment for my grandpa. All in all, Brookview Assisted Living is a great residence that creates a comfortable atmosphere for residents to continue their lives.
