Gary
BirchRock Corners Homestyle is a family-run community and it's really nice. It's where we wanted to go but they didn't have a place for my mother. It was like a group home but more family-oriented. They only had 22 people there. They care for each other; it was so fun to see. It was a really lively and friendly group, and really caring. So everybody seemed really happy there. They had all levels of care except for dementia. Everything was included in terms of services, except they didn't have doctors that came in to see the residents. It was just a small place and the building wasn't huge.

We choose Birchrock Corners for my father because it is more intimate. It is a nice facility with a courtyard and a walking path right outside the building. It is very clean and the maintenance is keep up very well. The people have been there for over 18 years. There is staff 24/7 and they are wonderful. They have been helpful in everything. My father is in a room with a private bathroom, and it is spacious enough for him. They have a full time chef who is very good. They provide all the meals and there are about 6 or 7 tables in their dining room. They have a TV room and there are only 20 rooms in the facility. They have activities, like there's a group playing guitars. They have bowling and they have several vans that take people around.
