My ex-mother-in-law is at Hillview Health Care Center. They put her on hospice care. I would describe it as totally unsatisfactory. The care is just not there. They seem to be super short- staffed. She spends all day in her bed, even though she could get up and sit in a chair. There's just not a whole lot of interaction with keeping the patient up and moving and progressing. Right now, she's in a Medicare room, so it's a single room. The room right now is good, but in 90 days it won't be good because then she has to have a roommate and the room cuts down to half. The staff is really good; it's the administration that's not so good. They can still improve on interacting with the patients, making them more mobile, and I think more showers are needed. One shower a week isn't sufficient for a human. Basic daily care is my problem at this moment with them.

Hillview is I think a very nice one. It is very close to the bluffs and has spectacular views. I don't know how old the buildings are but they're well maintained. It's quite a large facility. It's clean, the food is good, they have all kinds of activities available, and they even have a beauty parlor in there. When my mother was there, she shared a room with another lady, but they have their own space. They have their own TVs, they can bring in things from home to decorate and make it more personable. It's very nice, the cleanliness, everything is top notch. She was taken to therapy just about every day to spend some time in there to get some exercise and talk to counselors if she needed to. If she had to go for a medical appointment, they drove her in a van. She seems to really like it there.
