About This Community

Benedictine Living Community is located in western Wisconsin, right on the Mississippi River in the city of La Crosse. Residents can enjoy the abundant natural beauty in the form of multiple parks, walking trails and gardens. There are also many popular dining, shopping and entertainment venues nearby. People also enjoy the sporting venues, museums and tours in La Crosse and the surrounding areas.

Benedictine Living Community is a pet-friendly assisted living community that has a specialized rehabilitation center. The 24-hour on-call nursing assistance supports those who need additional help, and independent living options provide seniors with peace of mind. Skilled nursing options deliver a higher level of medical care beyond the routine bathing, dressing and meal preparation help supplied to all assisted living residents. A state-of-the-art rehabilitation center is on-site to help residents needing physical therapy, occupational therapy or speech therapy, as are dialysis care, wound care, intravenous hydration and enteral feeding.

Amenities offered include an on-site beauty salon, library, chapel and meditation room. Socialization through daily planned activities and outings promotes active and healthy lifestyles. Parking is offered, but transportation options are readily available for seniors who may need them.

My mother is in Benedictine Manor. I like the location. The staff is very energetic and caring. They're very nice to her. They have movie night and happy hour, where they bring a band in. There's manicure time. We've only been there less than a week, and I just saw one sheet of activities. They have different activities every day, but they give out a sheet once a week.

Staff seemed to genuinely care for/about the patients and strived to make them comfortable at all times. Meals were alright, nothing fancy, but definitely suitable. There were nice areas for residents to entertain themselves (a lovely garden and a social/game area). It was a bit odd having residents share a room, but some seemed to be grateful for the company it provided. This was overall a very welcoming area.
