About This Community

Our Assisted Living community provides a safe and home like environment for your loved one...with trained specialists on staff to assist with the unique physical, emotional and spiritual needs of each resident. Residents in Assisted Living will have assistance with activities of daily living and basic care support in a homelike setting. Additionally, residents are provided nutritious and tasty breakfast, lunch and dinner, and of course snacks, daily.

We also provide your loved one with recreational and social activities, housekeeping, linen service, apartment maintenance and transportation.

Trained caregivers provide attention and assistance with medication management, bathing, dressing, eating and walking 24-hours a day. In addition, we coordinate services with outside healthcare providers and monitor residents to ensure their optimal health and to keep on top of any changes in health conditions.

We are specialists in Memory Care and we know that no two people experiencing cognitive decline are alike. A keystone of our care-giving approach is to tailor support to the resident's stage of life, ensuring their continued dignity, comfort, and peace of mind.

Comfort, respect and dignity are all important aspects in maintaining quality of life when living with memory impairment. This in mind, our approach to memory care facilities is not to make them like a home, but to make it a resident’s home fully and completely.

I missed a phone call by seconds and called back on caller ID. It was a Bay Harbor employee returning my voicemail. She answered the phone "this is Delores" so I didn't know where I was calling. (Juggling multiple work/personal things, I had just called and left voicemails for about 20+ different people). I told the employee I didn't know why I called. Instead of saying "you called Bay Harbor AL" or "your message said...", either of which would have triggered my memory, the employee said shortly "call back when you figure it out". This is a review of my first and only experience with Bay Harbor AL. Hopefully, this person is not a reflection of the caretakers there.

Bay Harbor Assisted Living of Suamico was made about 21 years ago, but they were really cheap when they built it. So the outlets are really bad, it's hard to get things to work, and it's hard to get the outlets to match the plugs. Then the acoustics are too loud. In the mornings if someone gets up at 5:00 or 6:00 you feel like you're there. The service is not bad. Some people are cordial and really helpful, while some people are just putting their time in. There are a lot of different kinds of people, some are older, and some are young. They don't have activities really, but I go out and dance in the parking lot. Other residents also go out and smoke. Sometimes the food is really good, but a lot of times they make like a hamburger into hamburger soup. Some of the things I've never seen before. Some things are really good, but some things are really so-so. I probably have the nicest room in this complex. It's got two rooms and a bathroom. There's no shower in here, there's only one shower in the whole building. There are 12 rooms that are using one shower, so you can only get one or two showers a week.

Bay Harbor Assisted Living of Suamico was very unwell-kept, dirty, there were residents just sitting on their beds, and it was not a good place at all. The rooms were horrible, and I would not recommend it. The door wasn’t secure, and we couldn't get in to the building through one of the doors.

Longview Terrace has beautiful rooms. In my mother's case, she has friends there all the time, which makes it really nice because she can socialize. We make special requests, like I take her to church every Sunday and I want her to be showered and dressed up, and they do that for us, so we are happy with the place. She gets good care there. She is very clean and dressed properly, and that's a big thing. She gets assistance when she needs it. She has really bad dementia and Alzheimer's. They are very watchful. I think, in general, if they could organize the activities, that would be an improvement.
