The rooms are large and beautiful. The staff is kind and caring, management is available and always willing to help. The activities are plentiful and interactive. The residents rave about the activities! The community has a bus that takes residents on outings, a nice gym, hair salon, onsite nursing, and even a spa room. The outdoor patio is beautiful and full of flowers! This community is top notch! My mom loves it there! Highly recommend it!

My parents were residents here for about a month. We had hoped this would be their forever home. When my parents health declined they told us they could not care for them. We chose Talamore because after their initial rn evaluation they said they could care for them for all their needs, now and future needs. We had to find and move them out to a facility that could provide their level of care. If you are thinking of moving in to Talamore, I would strongly urge you to see if the resident can open the doors to their apartment. Not just the model apartment. My parents using a walker or wheelchair found they could not open the door. We unsuccessfully asked for adjustment to be made to make it easier. Other residents also find this to be unworkable. One resident had her son completely remove the closer from her door. Dietary also has many problems. It was not unusual for one person to be handing out silverware, taking orders, cooking the order, delivering the food, and bussing the tables. I waiting for 45 minutes for a pb&j for my mom. Residents that reley on aids to return them to their rooms after a meal often have unacceptable wait times of up to an hour. Housekeeping is included...please ask exactly what that means. In the month my parents were there the sheets were only changed once by staff. No dishes were washed. Bathroom was cleaned very infrequently. The "cantina" is not open nor was it ever. There was a clock in the lobby of their floor that never worked, it was confusing to my parents. No effort was made by anyone that worked there to fix it. We were told it was "a decorative clock", not meant to be functional. I finally put a battery in it because noone else took initiative. A family member was there everyday but one to observe their care. There are a couple of trained competent compassionate aides but far and few between. All the staff was very nice. I witnessed a resident threaten an aide with violence. There is another resident that fellow residents are afraid of. I was disappointed no effort was made to celebrate residents birthdays. The place is pretty but they are extremely unstaffed with trained staff. The on boarding process was very poor, there was no explanation of weekly schedule as it applied to housekeeping or showers. The first day they were there, noone came to get my mom dressed, give her her medication, or get her to the cafeteria until after 10am when i asked for those things to be done. You can not have a landline, only cell phones. It concerns me that they are trying to fill open apartments yet cannot serve the current residents adequately.
