The Landings of Kaukauna was very nice. The person who gave me the tour, Diane, was very helpful and was able to answer all my questions. There were rooms attached to the main structure. Meals are provided, medication is provided, that sort of thing. I only met the representative, the salesperson person. They seem to be staffed fine. The rooms were spacious. Some were double rooms for two residents, and some were single. But they all seemed quite airy and with high ceilings and that sort of thing. The dining area has hardwood floors, plenty of windows, and views of the outdoors. It's just very user-friendly for folks in walkers and wheelchairs. The residents gathered together in the common area where they eat their meals. I was there, probably about 11:00 in the morning, so, nothing was going on then. They do offer things like bingo, card playing, and that sort of thing. There's a movie theater, and a beauty barbershop was there. They offer haircuts, trims, etc. The facility looked quite new and quite easily accessible for everyone that was there.

We have a room reserved at The Landings of Kaukauna. We chose it because it's the smallest facility and that will better suit my dad's needs. The other places were phenomenal, but they're way too big for him. All the people there were very nice. We visited only the assisted living, but now that the nurse has come and evaluated my dad, she has determined he needs to go to the memory care. We saw the menu. We were there during lunchtime, and the food looked really good, smelled good, and the menu choices looked good. It's fine for my dad. I liked the room, but that's kind of last. We want him to be comfortable, but the staff there was just so friendly. Because it was so small, everyone seemed like they knew everyone, and I liked the fact that they would come to dad's room to get him out and about every day, so he just doesn't sit around. Just the small-town feel of it all seemed the best fit for my dad. It's totally clean, and they are constantly cleaning. I used the restroom there, and it was totally clean. The occupants there did not have masks on anymore, but we all did and I think all the employees still did.
