The director at Wissota Place was good. She was able to help, and she understood that we weren't moving right away and that we were just starting the process. She gave us some good insights on the process of going through this and how to start conversations with my in-laws so that we can make sure that we're getting them what they need and not just forcing them into where we want them.
The rooms were clean and well organized. They were smaller in size, but they had one or two rooms that would accommodate my in-laws. The building looked very clean, very modern, and very well-kept. The dining area was nice. They didn't have quite as many outdoor spaces, but they had opportunities for people to gather in small communities. Laundry and meals were included. They have a podiatrist that shows up regularly (like once a month). All these services checked a lot of boxes for me. They were very pleasant and very agreeable.

We liked Wissota Place. It was the transportation issue that concerned us. There was a lot of flexibility in room sizes. It was new, clean, and well kept, and I just loved the salesperson who showed it to us. She was very, very good and had been there for a while, and was familiar with my brother's type of disability. It was a really good fit except the transportation was limited.
It was by the major medical centers, which is good, and there was a van that took people to medical appointments and there was another van they could schedule and pay a price for. The rooms were larger. There was a little more flexibility on that. It was a very beautiful facility. I loved the staff there. They seemed to have more stability. They don't have as much transition as the one in the other place.
The food is homecooked and it's good. The facility was wonderful. They were even a little better than the other place. They had a craft director who'd been there for 15 years and she had a wonderful room where they did art projects which they put on exhibit. They did all kinds of really neat things and the facility itself was very, very nice, very clean, full of light, and roomy. It just had a really happy feeling to it.

Very high turnover of staff, and always understaffed. If the cleaning person is on vacation the units don't get cleaned. Food comes to the table cold, or at best room temperature. Off campus activities rarely actually happen because the ancient bus they have is chronically not running. Residents gather for planned activities like exercise class or games, sit there and wait, and nobody shows up to lead the class or game. Looking to find a new location for my loved one.

Wissota Place was a very nice place, a little larger, more apartment type, but very clean, and the rooms were very nice. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. They seemed to have a good number of activities.

I've been a resident of Wissota Place for a couple of years. It's beautiful, it's everything you could ask for, and they have everything here. The staff is very kind, and very considerate. I can't say anything bad about them. They try really hard to meet all your needs, and they come to clean my apartment and do my laundry. I have a call light if I fall down or need to go to the hospital. I just push my button and somebody comes. The only thing they don't have is shuttle transportation. For instance, I'm just a block from my doctor but I have to take a cab, which I find very annoying. My apartment has a little kitchen with a microwave and a fridge, but no stove, there's a sink and cabinets, a nice little table, and a living room with a cable television (all provided through my rent).I have Wi-Fi hookups in my bedroom, I have my computer in there, and a bathroom with a shower that's handicapped accessible. It's a lovely apartment. They have exercises Monday through Fridays, and they have one activities person who pretty much does everything. They have a lot of music, people come in to play music, and they play bingo. They put out a calendar on the first of every month with all the activities scheduled, so there's always something going on. There's almost 70 people here, and everybody's friendly. We have a separate room that's a library and a great big TV, and they have movies, and we have a big activity room where they do exercises and have parties and things like that. We celebrate every holiday with a party. It's just too far away from everything I want to do. It's out in the country. We have three meals a day in the dining room. They follow the menu and you have an alternative as well. The only thing is that they're not real skilled in putting it on the plate. I don't really care for the food that much but they really try hard. I'm at about $3,000 a month, so that's a pretty reasonable price for this area.

I visited Wissota Place. They had three meals a day and nurses on-staff. They had very nice, good-sized rooms, and they'd actually make two single rooms into one two-bedroom if you wanted it that way. I would've moved in there myself. They had a hallway that would take you right to the hospital. The common area was very nice, clean, and spacious, and could handle quite a few people. We had lunch there, and the food was great.

My mother has been here a few years. We are disappointed with the constant turnover of help, including nurses and administration. The communication is terrible. Phone calls are not returned in a timely manner. We are currently looking for another facility.

Wissota Place is clean and well kept up. The rooms are decent. They are nice people, but I think they are probably understaffed. My mother is in a one-bedroom right now, which is adequate and nice enough. They got bingo and various games. They have exercise and that type of thing. They have singers and musicians come in to play for them, but the food is mediocre. As for security, it seems to be fine. Like I said, they are understaffed. For example, when it is dinner time, everybody pitches in and works in the dining hall. It is not the best situation. I would probably look around in the area to see what else is out there because we didn't do it when she moved in there.
