My tour of Gibson Gardens was good. It was only four stories high; personally, I didn't like that. The unit that I saw was nice. It just seemed kind of impersonal. It was the actual physical structure of the place that didn't appeal to me. What I liked about it was it was close to a high school where they said people walk on the grounds. I wanted something where I could get out, walk, and be outside. I didn't see that many opportunities in that particular place. It was a nice neighborhood up the hill because I drove round, and it would have been an OK neighborhood to walk around. There was a senior center about a block away. I had visited there a few years ago for a gathering for seniors. It was nice it was there. The unit that the staff showed me was big, and I liked it. I thought it was spacious. I liked that the balcony had a screen around it. If I did bring my cats, there would be no chance of them falling off the balcony or anything. The courtyard was beautiful. It was really nicely put together. The staff was OK, but they didn't have masks on. It was definitely a turnoff for me. There were other people in there who were older, and they were obviously vulnerable to Covid. I felt like that was not a good thing. They seemed friendly.

Gibson Gardens was a very clean place. I was very impressed with the wide hallways, very pleasant décor, and the colors they used for the paint. The apartment itself was being redone and we just looked at one that had just been completed, and I thought the interior was very nicely done. They had put some very good choices in it, like the two-bedroom has one to three quarters bath (so there was a tub in one bathroom and a shower in another). I definitely felt it was a place that I could be very comfortable with at a very reasonable price. Bridgette was very, very helpful too. They had very nice managers and very pleasant women. I was happy with it. The chef was very friendly and a very, very nice gentleman. It's an extra charge per month if you want to have all of your dinners there, which I thought was extremely reasonable. I looked at their menus and the food looked extremely good. The kitchens that I saw in a couple of units looked very ample for a single person. I was pleased with the size of the appliances. They have a washer and dryer in the unit (which I thought was great) and a reasonable amount of cupboard space. I was pleased with what I saw in the two-bedroom unit.

I didn't think that the apartments at Gibson Gardens were too bad. I liked the idea that there was a balcony that we could go outside and sit on. My husband said there was too much walking and he didn't like the one they showed us which was an end unit. That has some pluses to it, but we were going to be on the first floor, which was good. I like the amenities that they had in the apartment. I think there was a dishwasher, washer, and dryer, and everything was right in the apartment which I liked. The staff who gave the tour was very nice.

I went to see a place called Gibson Gardens in Tacoma. It's an independent living, and I could afford the rent there. They want four times the amount of the rent to get in, which I cannot qualify for. It looked like a very nice and well-maintained place. They have activities there. They were able to show me a very nice-looking apartment. It's within a price range that I can afford, but one of the requirements to get in was for me to have three or four times the amount of rent (that I can't do). The staff was nice and friendly. The only thing they could show me was an apartment. They could not take me to the activity areas. The building was a little bit older than what the other places have, but still it was a very nice place. I would move in there for it wasn't for the fact that I can't qualify.

Gibson Gardens didn't have as many amenities as the other places, but they are definitely in our top three. The staff was excellent. They were limited on food, but I would give them a "five" on the kitchen area. Their rooms were a "five," and they had screened-in balconies.

We love it here at Gibson Gardens. The size is quite smaller than what we're used to because we moved from a place that was twice as large. You can either eat in the dining room or not, we've chosen to just eat mostly in our own apartment. We've eaten one or two meals in the dining room, and both times it was very good. The staff is wonderful, they have lots of things to do, they have a gym, a library, a sewing room, an arts and crafts room, and a gameroom. The residents are very friendly, outgoing, everybody seems very happy, the majority of the people I've met and talked to have been here for 2 years or more, and one has been here for 8 years. Anybody who would stay that long must be happy here.

Gibson Gardens was really nice. The room size was good. The people who run it were really friendly. They had games and pool tables. It seemed like it was walking distance to the senior center. The décor of the rooms was bright and very nice.

I liked Gibson Gardens, but it was a little more than I could afford. I looked at a very spacious 1-bedroom apartment, and dinner is available for an extra charge. The person who conducted the tour was very friendly, and they have Wi-Fi in the community room but not in individual rooms.

Gibson is a gated community and with friendly and happy people. It’s sunny with a well appointed kitchen, and I love the washer and dryer. The trash is picked up twice a week right outside your door. It’s big, it has a balcony, and the place was very clean. The staff was wonderful, and my impression was very good.

Gibson Gardens is a very nice place. The staff was great and very helpful even after they knew we are not going to move there. The prices were affordable as well. The rooms were great and of nice size.

The staff is very friendly, and Gibson Gardens is conveniently located to bus stops and shopping. The apartments are really nice -- nicer and bigger than most I've seen -- and they come with washers, dryers, and cable TV. They have a lot of activities to keep the seniors occupied. They just had a senior prom night, which was fantastic. The meals, I hear, are good. The atmosphere is really nice, it is like home, and the price is really affordable. My father-in-law has been there since the beginning of August. I went to a whole bunch of different places, this place was the most affordable, and he likes it.
