I toured Parkview Estates and it was nice and everybody was friendly. They showed me a room that would be my mother's if we were to put her there. They told me the procedures, the prices, and all that stuff, and it was all very pleasant. It's clean and it's nice. However, they just don't offer the level of care that my mother needs. She needs something like adult home care. It should work but I don't think it's ideal. I would be worried about her not getting the care that she needs. It's not their fault, it's just that they're not set up for the type of care she needs. They showed me an apartment. It was clean, and it was nice. It was unfurnished, but other than that, it was fine. The dining area was nice, too. They had a menu with a variety of selection of food. It seemed very, very nice. We have not observed any activities because they had a Covid positive patient, so there was no eating in the dining area allowed this time. The staff was very good.

I toured Parkview Estates. I really liked that place. It was on the same level overall as the other place I went to. It was a little different, it was set in a neighborhood, and it had a little bit of a different flavor to it. The staff was very friendly, helpful, and complete. They gave me a description of the program in writing with some estimates. I saw an apartment with a kitchen and a living room area. It seemed to be clean and well-maintained. I saw the dining area. It was open, you could go there anytime you wanted to, you could get some food besides the regular meal times that they have, and I thought that would be handy. They showed me a weight room and an exercise room. They did take me around and show me quite a few places. There was an activity room where they actually had a birthday party going on at that time. It seemed like a nice atmosphere to be in.

Parkview Estates was clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful during my visit. They had bingo and crafts. It seemed like they had activities that my mom could possibly fit into. The floor plans for assisted living were nicely laid out for easy mobility. The place was warm and well-lit.

My Father had to go into Parkview Estates in March. He was just coming out of a Rehab center and we brought him to Parkview for a respite stay. We were able to get a good look at how Parkview operates. On the positive side, the senior staff are very nice and friendly before and when you arrive. The facilities look nice and the rooms are reasonably well-maintained. The food was very good during my dad's stay and they had physical therapy on site. The floor staff that help the residents are generally competent and caring. On the negative side, the level of cooperation of the senior staff went down considerably after our check cleared their books. You have to watch medications closely because they hire Pharmacy techs to help with the medications that are not well trained. The Pharmacy techs are inconsistent. Before you move in the Community Relations Director and Nursing Supervisor will tell you that Parkview is in the "Sweet Spot" between the two local hospitals so if there's an event where the resident needs to go to the Hospital we can have them brought to either Trios or Kadlec. This was untrue. All the rooms have emergency pull cords in the event the resident needs help. Before you move in the Community Relations Director and Nursing Supervisor will tell you that Parkview responds to the residents within about 5 minutes. The real average respond time was about 15 to 20 minutes. They fake their response time numbers. The staff go down an entire hall, go into the rooms were the residents are needing assistance, turn off the call light then tell the resident that they will be right back because they have another person that really needs help. My Father told them at one point that he just needed help getting to the toilet. The staff told him to poop in his pants if he had to and they would clean it up when they could get back to him. My Father’s stay ended when he had a choking incident. He pulled the emergency cord to get assistance. It took over 30 minutes before someone got to his room. By that time my Father wasn't breathing and had to be resuscitated. He ended up going to the Hospital and died about 10 days later. He did recover enough to talk to us about what happened at Parkview. He said don't blame the floor staff it's not their fault. It's the management and nursing supervisor. He said if he did get better, he did not want to go to Parkview because of the poor management and care. I feel horrible that I brought my Father to Parkview. Please take this review to heart before you bring someone to this facility.

I would recommend Parkview Estates to anybody. The people are very kind and the facilities are kept up well. I've never seen any people just sitting around not being attended to. They're always in and out with my mother. They're never sitting there by themselves for hours without anybody checking in on them. I personally like their services. The staff is wonderful and hardworking. They're there to help and they try to make the living situations for the residents very enjoyable and almost like living in their own homes. They play games, Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, there's a group that provides music for the residents, they have birthday and New Year's parties, there are social events on Friday evenings, bible studies, and people from various religions coming in. They have food options that a diabetic could go with, but the majority of the cooking is for people that are not diabetic. They're one of the lowest priced places I've seen with great quality and care.

My mom spent her last days at Parkview. The rooms are bright and beautiful and the facility is very nice. Our family can't say enough about the care provided by the entire staff. My mom, our family and her friends were provided a homelike setting during her last days and the support and care for all of us was outstanding. My mom lives here and sadly the place has apparently gone into severe corner-cutting mode under the new owners. The ownership changed around the first of this year (2016) and the first thing she noticed was that her neighbor, who hired Home Instead Care staff, was evicted for being too dependent. Not sure what part of "assisted" living they actually want to provide now - he certainly wasn't depending on anyone working at Parkview to care for him, he had arranged his own care. My cousin visits weekly and she's noticed a bit of sloppiness in the housekeeping too. Mom says they're having trouble keeping housekeepers, lots of new faces and less professionalism in the quality of work being done. But most evident, and causing a lot of complaints, is the downgrading of the food they serve. Although the cost of living there hasn't gone down, the "lunch" is now fast food; hamburgers, corn dogs, things of that nature. Worse, the dinners now consist of one choice of everything. The other night it was Polish sausage and sauerkraut, take it or leave it. They used to offer multiple choices every night and people with special dietary needs could accommodate accordingly, but no more. All the classes, trips, and decor in the world won't make up for downgrading the cleanliness and the food served. Basic needs first and good quality always, these are the things that keep residents loyal. Old time residents here have moved out and my mom is going to be one of them. It's too bad because this place is attractive and nicely located for all the places and relatives she likes to visit, but you can't cheat people out of what they believed they were always going to have when they signed up and expect them to tolerate it.

One of the clubs I belonged to has meetings at Parkview, so I’m familiar with it. There are things about it that I like. Their apartments have washers and dryers, which is really a handy thing. I’ve eaten there several times, and the food is good. The environment was warm and cozy, and all of the residents seemed happy there. They had activities going on when I was there the last time. They have a lovely dining facility. It was very nice.

I've been to Parkview, and I thought the staffs are accommodating and friendly. The room looked spacious, and they were decorated very nicely. My daughter and I had lunch there, and it was nice. It was more like being in a restaurant -- maybe something like Olive Garden. It reminded me of that. They have bus trips and something called Joy Ride where they just go out and drive around a bit. There was shopping and other things like bingo. As for security and safety, it appeared to be good, and they had staff that greeted you.

Parkview is less expensive, and the food might be better. My mom said when she moved to the other facility that the food is better here. She had a friend here she used to visit. One time we did go here to look at it, and the food is better. I don't know if the food is better all the time. Parkview has two and three bedroom apartments. The daughter of one of the residents of the apartments we looked at came up to us. She just wanted to say that the caregiver at Parkview is very good. It is sort of unusual for somebody to come up to say something like that. She must really think highly of them. The dining area is nice. And if I understand it correctly, you could get your food anytime whereas other facilities have specific hours.
