When I was searching for a facility to place my mother, I decided upon LS because the admissions rep painted such a beautiful picture of Senior living. They promised weekly field trips out, a wide variety of ethnic and American cuisine, daily activities and physical therapy. I have never seen this cuisine nor has my mother ever been on a field trip. If the patient is totally capable of taking care of themselves then some of these daily activities such as watching a movie or playing bingo may be an option. But, as far as anyone with a "real" disability, staying in bed is really what their day looks like. Unless I come and take care of my mothers hygiene, she's not well taken care of. I find her with super soaked disposable undergarments(diapers), on many occasions have lead to severe diaper rash and yeast infection. She developed a rash that covered her entire body except her feet. it had the appearance of scabies. when the facility wouldnt promptly address issue, i took her to a physician at Swedish and he took pictures and said he was reporting the facility with neglect. i took Dr's orders and they did not follow them. Clothing and hygiene items often disappear. A social worker charted info in the chart that wasn't true and falsified documents. When addressed with management nothing was done. She is still employed there. I would have moved her to another facility but to be honest...they are pretty much all the same, just a different address.

I think my father is happier at Leon Sullivan Health Care Center.
