I've toured Franklin Place, it has the same layout as the other place I toured, it's a nice place. They've got a good layout, the room has a small kitchen and nice, handicapped-accessible bathrooms. There's plenty of room even for a studio apartment. They'll take you around if you need it. They can take you from beginning to long-term care, which is pretty nice if somewhere down the road you don't have to move somebody. They have game rooms set up, they have a courtyard, and they have a smoking area. It's overall a nice facility. Their dining area is nice and they have a lot of space between tables. It's small, they have about 40-something units. The staff is very nice and very helpful. The place is all nice and clean. What I like best about it is it has the potential for long-term care if you need it.

I've been to Franklin Place in Sumner several times. My mother just likes it because it's small, homey, and the coordinator said there's supposed to be some remodeling done, but COVID came, so the money had to go to that and that they're planning to fix up the landscaping, which needs it. The staff is very knowledgeable, we got along very well, and she's been communicating with me. She's working with us, because mom, we meant to move her, so she's held everything open for us and is helping me fill out the paperwork. She's just very helpful. She showed me the menu, and I'm gonna go down there today. I got to call her first because I need to talk to a financial type person and make the payment and all that. And then I'm going to ask them if I can talk to the cook because they don't exactly cater to the gluten-free menu. I'm worried about that. But she has a little refrigerator in her room and she can microwave stuff, or I can bring her stuff down if she can't find something on the menu that she can eat because she's gluten intolerant and she has allergies. It looks like they have somebody on staff for maintenance, and it just looked nice, like my mom said it's very homey and pleasant looking. It's one story, she's not impressed with the big multi-story buildings because they're just too much. They have a big courtyard and apartments are like a donut going around that. And of course, the people on the outside get the parking spaces. The building next door is on the other side, but they have a big dining area, and big slider doors and they open that up in the summer and they have gatherings out on that patio. There's a kitchen available with a stove in it and a dining table type thing that we can use. They do the residents' laundry, but there's a separate place that we can use, like at a laundromat, if we need to do anything else, bedding or something. But yet there's no cooking in the rooms, other than the microwave. And so I got her an electric tea kettle.

I liked how Franklin Place was laid out and I liked that it was nice and clean. I liked that it was in a kind of a circle, you go up one hall, you can go across, and come down. I just like the way the building was laid out, it was very nice. I went to see assisted living since it would have to be full care for my dad. Diane was the person onsite that gave me the tour and she was very knowledgeable.
I saw their menu on the wall and they looked very good. They also had lots of stuff like puzzles, music, and a lot of other activities that they could do but I didn't necessarily see them. They just told me about them.

Franklin Place was just very small. It was quaint. The access to the outside was a little bit better for her dog, but it was a little bit farther away than we wanted to go for visiting her. She really wanted to stay in Puyallup, so the location wasn't good for us. The staff was nice. We didn't have a lot of interaction with any staff other than maybe two people. She was really nice, and she was knowledgeable. The amenities and stuff weren't as good as the other places we went to.

My mother-in-law moved into Franklin Place. It's really nice, and it's definitely the level of care that she will need. The process was super easy, and they were very accommodating. The apartment is very clean, and exactly the amount of space that she will need. It has nice views from the window.
The outdoors are very clean, well-kept, and easy for her to navigate in terms of walking around and moving from building to building. The staff are wonderful, very welcoming, and very accommodating. The dining area is very open and has lots of room for seating. They have games, puzzles, a TV or movie room, a craft room, and outdoor garden areas.

Franklin Place is one of communities that I went to. I think it was all one floor, which is a little different, and were the only ones that had respite care. The community seemed to be comparable to others. It looked like the community rooms were all in the middle with wings branching out. There were a lot of people busy doing things in the middle area. The only negative I could say was that I didn’t like the parking arrangement. You have to park around the back, and it didn’t look like it was easy to get in and out for somebody that lived there. There were only two handicapped parking spots in the front of the building. They had separate rooms ready for short-term stay that were very nicely furnished and fairly close to the community center of the facility.

Management and the nurse in Sumner WA were always very unfriendly and unorganized; every time I went into visit my Grandfather, who has dementia, they complained about him for things he was paying them to help him with and called constantly for information that was already provided but they did not update their records when provided. They often called the wrong number and were rude when they got to the correct person because again they never would correctly update their records and were frustrated that you did not call them back. I tried to deal with these issues because of my Grandfather’s inability to deal with change due to his dementia. Final straw was when the nurse REFUSED to call 911 after myself and another family member requested her to do so when she called stating my Grandfather was ill, so I hung up on the nurse and called 911 and my Grandfather was admitted. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE, more worried about their image than the sake of the residents.

Franklin Place is a small place, and so they have less people in there. Cost is a little bit more. Everybody is super friendly, and I like it.

One facility that I visited and I liked a lot was here. I like the fact that, there was the dining area right off the main entry, and it made it open and inviting. The rooms that were available were kind of far away from the main entry area and dining area. It didn't seem extremely secure. Some windows seemed kind of accessible to someone on the outside. I didn’t get to taste the food, but I looked at their menu, and it looked good. This facility has been remodeled because sometime two years ago, they were flooded. This facility is situated in a low area, and they told me that after they remodeled the place, they redesigned the water drainage system so that it would not flood again, but I didn’t feel comfortable with that. I really like the openness of the entry way. The décor was beautiful and very welcoming. What I didn’t like was the layout of the rooms was kind of a long walk down the hall from the dining area and the main entry area.
