Dad was having a medical emergency. He has communication problems. Instead of sending him to the emergency room they decided he needed extra medication for compliance. The medication they gave him was a heavy sedative, highly addictive and inhibited the seizure medications he was on: Invoking break thru seizures. When they did send him to the emergency room they sent him to UVM (miles away) instead of St. Albans. Turns out his heartbeat was extremely fast and needed to be controlled by a medicine change. They did not have a good communication plan. They insisted it was him and his behaviors but turns out he did great at the another place and at the hospital... these folks mistreated their patient then blamed him and drugged him. They said he was welcome back but did not accept him back. They blamed the patient. But they are just not trained well. Unprofessional. Nurses couldn't see he was in distress. Was real obvious with the use of a simple oxi-meter. We thought they were going to be really caring. Turns out they were the worst sub acute we have encountered. They also wrote disparaging remarks about him. They drugged him so much he couldn't even participate in therapy. He was just trying to tell them he needed to go to the emergency room. DO NOT BELIEVE THE HYPE...they have misleading reviews.

Best long term facility in St. Albans. Best to visit your loved one often. Staff for the most part caring. Good meals!!
