This is the last place I would bring a loved one for care! The place is understaffed and overworked leading to improper care for the residents. My mother was a very loved resident there. But we had our major share of problems after a few months of her being there (once she became a permanent resident ) most days she did not have a bra on..or showered or hair combed, being physically attacked 3 times by a couple other dementia patients and ended up mysteriously "falling out of bed"(on the night shift ) with no bed alarms or floor mat causing her to end up at the ER with a broken hip. She did NOT go back and I would never refer this place to anyone who cares for their loved ones!

MY 90yo father fell and had to go to rehab. We could not have chosen a better place. The care while he was there was better then we could have expected the rehab program was first rate. The place was clean staff very nice all said and done we would have to give this place very high marks.

I assumed that when my mother was in the care of Rowan Court workers that she would be safe. Instead I received a phone call telling me she had been taken to the hospital because they thought she had had a stroke. My mother is lying in intensive care, braindead, not because of a stroke, but because she had banged her head so hard at Rowan Court during the night shift that a bleed started that was too large to repair. I am her only daughter, and I alone have to make the choice of taking her off life support and letting her die, or letting her lie there as a vegetable. She told me that there was an aide that worked the night shift that she was uncomfortable around about a week ago. The aide told her that she needed to get up and walk on her broken hip, and called her lazy. I find it odd that I received the call at 7:20 in the morning, after that shift had ended. They never called to tell me that she had been moved to Fletcher Allen for emergency brain surgery. I didn't know until three days later when the neurosurgean called me, that my mother was lying there alone, hooked up to life support. The phones at Rowan Court had been having problems, so I didn't think anything about not getting through to her room. I assumed they would know what was going on, and made the effort to let me know.If you care about your loved ones, this is the last place I would recommend them to go to.
