My mom has been living at Commonwealth Sr. Living since Oct., 2016. It was a difficult move for her, as she had lived her entire live in Cleveland, Ohio. To make such a major change, as well as adapt to life after hip replacement at 102 years of age was a challenge. But the staff at Commonwealth was so warm and welcoming, which was reassuring to my mom. The rooms are very large and Mom’s own furniture fit beautifully. Mom began in the assisted living part of the facility; as her dementia progressed she moved to the memory care unit. The staff was a huge help with moving from one room to another, handling all the heavy lifting. Amazingly they completed the move while Mom was at lunch, which eliminate the stress and anxiety of Mom not understanding what was going on. The staff work tirelessly to give very good care to their residents. I know I can stop in or call at any hour and the staff will give me an update on Mom’s condition. And any questions I have I can email to the director or assistant director and I will receive a very prompt response. My concerns are never dismissed; but rather taken seriously and addressed quickly. The kitchen staff always do their best to accommodate menu requests, as we try to keep Mom interested in eating. And the activities director always has a variety of activities to stimulate Mom and keep her involved with the community. The cleaning staff has a thankless job and does it with a smile. To keep such a busy facility clean is a challenge which they are successful in accomplishing. It is so reassuring to know Mom is safe and well-cared for by a professional and caring staff. Mom just celebrated her 105th birthday. The kitchen staff made special cupcakes for Mom’s special day. And the off-duty staff made the effort to come to Mom’s celebration, which for us is a testament to their dedication to the residents. We are so blessed to have found Commonwealth Sr. Living!!
