The facilities of Greenfield Senior Living of Williamsburg were clean. The staff was very knowledgeable and supportive. Also, the price was very competitive for the area. The dining area was a nice little space. I liked the floor plans. They were really nice. It does well, especially when you're looking for companion services.

Greenfield of Williamsburg was good. My husband stayed there and I liked the community. The facilities were clean and they were very, very friendly. They had crafts, somebody that would come in to do haircuts, and an activity director. They were kind people and they worked with us.

Greenfield of Williamsburg was nice and very clean. I didn't see no cobwebs or trash laying around. I didn't smell any booboo from someone or vomit or anything like that. They smelled clean and fresh. All I could smell was the seasoning coming from the cafeteria with their cooking, and it smelled very good. The staff who toured me was very kind, and very knowledgeable regarding the rooms and things that they can do. They had a schedule of events that come up and you can go to those events. It could be art or getting your hair cut. She showed me the barbershop and hair salon. She even told me about Bible study, which my dad loves. They had a movie night last night. I like the fact that they have art activities for them, a library, reading books, and things of that nature to keep them occupied. She showed me a 65-inch flat screen TV and a popcorn machine. The popcorn is light and didn't have any butter on it or salt. They had chips and bananas and apples in bowls. I really liked the setup that they had down there. They have a terrace where you could step and sit outside. They got wicker chairs and grills. I love the black baby grand piano they had in the main room when you first walked in. They had fireplaces everywhere, in the main room and the cafeteria. I'm sure that's real cozy and warm for the patients. The staff was very sweet. She showed me the breakfast, lunch, and dinner schedule for them, and if they sleep a little later, the family can let the community know that. The dining area was beautiful. They had chandeliers and fireplaces. The tables were set up with the fork, knife, and spoon already, and nice, clean napkins. It was clean. I didn't see any bugs running or cobwebs or any trash. I didn't see any diapers thrown anywhere. They really disinfect and clean the place. It smelled real fresh and clean. I had never seen anything so clean. I didn't get to try the food, but once my father gets in there, I can come down there and have breakfast with him, or lunch or dinner. We'll just let them know in the cafeteria they'll prepare a meal for the family member. They said you can eat there or you can check your family member out and take them to get something to eat. It was in the heart of Williamsburg. If a family member wants to take him away to get dinner or breakfast, there's a lot of restaurants right by him. They even had a bouncy house there for the kids. They have an ice cream parlor there, pizzeria, and an antique store. The first room had two single beds. They were made really nicely. They had rugs on the floor because they were wood floors. They had two nice sitting chairs and a little round table in between them. You can bring a recliner or a nice rocking chair for your family member, so it feels more like home. You can bring pictures of the family, bring pictures of Jesus or something you want to put up. You can bring a TV. You can even bring refrigerator and a microwave. They had a nice closet space. You could roll the wheelchair inside of the shower and you could put a chair in the shower too where they can sit. The bathroom was clean. They had all the sanitizers and stuff around. It looked like a five-star hotel. They had wheelchairs in there if you don't have one. They have a pull cord in the bathroom. The staff was very kind and cordial. The only thing was I didn't see any residents at all like sitting in the sitting room where the TV is. I didn't see anyone outside in the hall.

We're leaning towards Greenfield of Williamsburg because of the layout, the rooms, and the amenities that were offered there. The dining area was excellent including the layout, the food menu was superb. I met the instructor for the exercise and activities program, and went through with me the ones that were in control of the involvement of the people. They had a lot of tours and things they would take, like going to the botanical gardens and going to the light shows. And I was impressed with that place. The living atmosphere, if I were in that situation, that'd be somewhere I'd want to stay. When you walked into the place, everything was just right there, all the amenities and you can see one end to the other. There were blind spots that people could hide.

I visited Greenfield of Williamsburg. It was good, Brett was very professional. The facility was clean. The staff was friendly. I met a couple of the residents, so it was a good experience. Just based up on what I saw, and Brett, and the staff members, I was pleased. The outdoor facilities were where the families can go and visit the residents. They were doing games when I got there.

I like that the staff at Greenfield of Williamsburg was upfront with me. I stated that I don't know if that's the place for my mom, and he compounded that, and said he did not believe my mom should stay in a place, which means they're wanting people to come there that need to come there. Like my dad needs memory care, and how sometimes those people who do go there that don't need the assisted living do decline, because everything is being done for them versus them still taking care of themselves. My parents could get one room with a bed, and could get kind of an apartment-style where one side would be the living room and the other side would be their bedroom. The small area for their kitchenette was tiny, and my mom would want something probably a little bit bigger so she could bring some of the personal things, but it was not big enough for her to bring all of the items that she probably would want. They have a studio type or a one-bedroom apartment kind of, and I just felt like that was too small. I checked the ones where they could either share a room or have a private room. They have their eating rooms kind of separated, but the residents can wander into the different areas. There is a baby grand piano in the middle of the hallway where somebody comes and plays classical piano. They have like a little wine bar for them during their stay, as well as a little bistro cafe where they can go get their coffee, hot chocolate, or wine depending on where they're at, not in memory care, obviously, for safety reasons. They have the ability to go out and go get it, should they want, for free. I just thought that was a nice little touch. The owner was a concert pianist. He bought Greenfield for his mother as she had memory care issues, and he basically catered it kind of to her style, and I thought that was nice, hence the music and a bands who come in and play once a month. They have different activities every day. They have a list of the monthly activities that they have. In the memory care living I witnessed the interaction between staff, as well as the residents, and I liked what I saw there. Of the three, that would be the place that I choose. I was impressed; I liked it. The rooms were the only thing because of the age, but they did everything they could to kind of up the ambience. The staff interacted with me as well.

We toured Greenfield of Williamsburg for my husband, and we loved it, we liked it. I remembered they were nice, and professional. They offered more than what we are asking for, and they seem to care for the patients.

The atmosphere at Greenfield of Williamsburg is lovely. I have not tasted the food, but it looks good, and the staff seems to be very caring. They're watching the residents all time. The activities could be pumped up a bit. They have sing-alongs and arts and crafts, but mostly women do it while men don't want to get involved. They should have more activities for the men to get involved in. After looking around, the value for this community is really good and reasonable.

Before either of us acquired Alzheimer's we visited a number of facilities in our area know that at our ages one or both might need such services. I had home care for her for about 6 months before placing her in Greenfield July 24. They always talk about the adjustment period for the one entering not much regarding the spouse who has to put their spouse in the facility. It took some time for me to adjust and still question my decision to this day. The facility like them all provide the care and attention that is needed but as anyone knows who has ever visited or had to place a loved one in them it is not home. The degree of dementia can be an issue of how well one can adjust. You have the worse who can do nothing for them self and those who still have the mentality to recognize where and what is happening. That is my wife. I could no longer do all the things that needed to be done and to take care of and be there every moment of the day for her. I still supervise the care and visit and take her out. I have developed a repore with some of the staff that in most part are good for her. But after 55 years of marriage this is still hard to visit and see how she is living and failing with Alzheimer's and that I am not able to do anything to fix it. They are very expensive and I would recommend getting long term care insurance. Yes it is too expensive but what you may pay for a year you may have to pay per month for the care. Insurance depending on ones age when taking it may run 4 or 5 thousand per year but monthly care can be between 4 & 6 thousand per month. Home care 20 to 30 dollars per hour or more depending on needs.

Greenfield of Williamsburg was a very nice place, but my other siblings thought it was a little more expensive than what they thought we should be investing in. They have very nice accommodations though, and it seemed to be a very well kept place. The dining area looked very good. The staff was very professional. I was very pleased and impressed with the entire community. As far as what they offer, I thought the price was very good.

Greenfield Senior Living of Williamsburg was very nice and clean. We had lunch and were impressed with it. I liked that they had transportation for activities outside the facility. I didn't like that they didn't have very much space for them to be able to congregate outside.

Greenfield Senior Living of Williamsburg was a nice community that did not smell like a nursing home. The staff was very nice and pleasant. Their rooms were a little small but very clean. I did not try the food, but I saw their dining room, and it was very nice. They seemed like they were really taking care of the residents, who looked happy.

The things I considered when we chose Greenfield of Williamsburg were its price, location, staff and the fact that this facility is new. The main things are its cleanliness and level of care shown by the staff for the residents. It's the best that I've seen so far. The staff is just very caring and committed to the welfare of my mom.

I have found a facility that includes short memory therapy which is also going to meet my sister's financial needs. Greenfield of Williamsburg is going to reopen on October 10th. They have a move-in fee which is waived if you do it prior to the move-in date. The cost of $2250 is for a semi-private, 365 sq.ft. room sharing one bathroom with three people. I'll be closer to my sister, it is a wonderful facility and they have a great staff. If you have somebody that needs it right now, I would recommend them.
