My dad is in respite care at Commonwealth Senior Living at Stafford. He has been there a month, and he's staying for another month. What I like about it is it's smaller and the people are very good. The bigger complaint is that they don't have a gym facility there for rehab and stuff. They don't have anything like that. So they just kind of have to walk the floor and stuff. The staff is good, but they had some major turnover in the dining area. The food is good. It's like home cooking. They do have outside seating, but they don't have a good place for walking. They have some activities, but he doesn't necessarily go to any of them. I think he's been to bingo once because his wife was there. They have bingo, puzzles, that kind of stuff. They were much more reasonable (price) than anybody else that we talked to.

Let me start by saying my dad has been at this property for about 6 years starting in the memory care unit. I say "property" because the other owners/organization was absolutely THE WORST! I was so fearful for my dad's safety & care that my husband & I were actively looking to move him. Fast forward to when Commonwealth Senior Living of Stafford took ownership. OMG - its like angels from heaven came down & blessed the facility, the residents & their loved ones! THEY ARE ANGELS!!! I get regular communication which never happened w/the previous owners. They have this awesome app where they send you pics of your loved one and/or activities & most importantly, the staff truly cares. AND-wait, it gets better - the management cares! they care about their staff, the training they receive & they actually listen to your concerns! I cannot say enough about Commonwealth of Stafford! I am so elated that they took ownership! I can't praise Commonwealth Senior Living of Stafford enough!

Moved my elderly relative into Greenfield of Stafford (They have various ones in the area) at the beginning of JAN2019.
When I initially looked at it, I went to it unannounced and received a tour, etc. It is a clean, fresh smelling facility. In other words it doesn't smell of urine or "old people".
You can either have individual rooms or shared rooms; individual rooms costing more.
From your base cost (being the type of room, individual or shared), the additional cost is the level of care that will need to be provided.
It is a 2 level facility, the top floor being for the memory loss. There is a security elevator so people can not wonder off.
Cable TV is included (basic Comcast cable), phone line is at individual cost if they want a phone in their room.
Staff is attentive and friendly from what I can concern; my relative and other residents I have befriended have told me they are treated well and not mistreated in anyway. I have asked staff members if Greenfield treats them right as employees and have gotten the same responses.
They have a monthly calendar of events posted and distributed to all.
Security for elderly that might wander off or go outside alone and are prohibited from doing so works as well.
I experience seeing an elder resident trying to go outside, and the doors immediately locked and no one could get out? We were not aware at the time why we could not get out... A staff members came and took the resident away from the door, and the doors then unlocked for us. They have some type of security that prevented her from opening the door. It was comforting to see that that type of security was in place, had my relative needed it.
All and all this facility as of FEB2019 is excellent and I have nothing negative to say. I will revisit the review if I see something I am not satisfied with.

I will be moving my mom out of this facility very soon. There has been so many changes and not for the better. My mom does not receive the care she once had from the staff here. When I bring complaints to the RCC who supervises the downstairs she says she will be sure to correct these things but she does not. The RCC has lied to me on multiple occasions and does not even seem to really even care about the people who live here. I know people have moved out of here recently and I can see why and now I am having to move my mom. This place is awful and would not recommend to anyone! Run as fast as you can!

After a number of months of researching I finally settled on Greenfield to take care of my dad. I am very pleased with the level of care. The staff are attentive and obviously care about their work. However, its the smile on his face whenever I visit that is the best testimony of all. Thank you!

This community has more than cared for my elderly father for the past few months. It was a difficult decision to place him anywhere other than his home but the level of care he receives is remarkable. There is no way he would be this involved or happy had we kept him in his home.

My mother has been here two years and she is extremely happy!
However, it did go through a rough patch recently in regards to staffing issues. I raised my concerns with the executive director at the time but received little satisfaction. I then contacted the Greenfield Corporate office and was pleasantly surprised in regards to their responsiveness. They listened to what I had to say and took action almost immediately. The home now has a new director and the quality of staff has greatly improved.
I understand how issues can come up in any type of business. However, it is how the management addresses (or does not address) these issues that is a true testament as to the integrity and quality of a company. I am pleased to say that Greenfield went over and above board to alleviate and rectify my concerns and for this reason I am giving them 5 stars!

I had my mom in this facility for about 19 months. Initially it was a good place and I felt she was taken care of. As management and employees changed it quickly deteriorated. She wasn't getting showered & changed. They left her in wet clothes in her bed until her whole mattress was saturated with urine and had to be thrown away. She fell on multiple occasions and ended up in the ER. They stopped doing activities with the residents when the new Memory Care activities coordinator came on-board. I witnessed employees on their cell phones when they were supposed to be working. They were rude to residents and ignored one residents request to use the bathroom. Horrible facility and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone!!

My God, do not place your loved one here. All the good ones, i.e., staff are gone. All that is left are people who are there for a paycheck and the residents go unattended to and left alone. The State is in there constantly on complaints and while there was hope before, there isn't now. The company kept all the bad ones and let all the good ones go. Their rooms are emptying out. Families are taking their loved ones home. Please please please do not take your loved one here.

I visited the Greenfield of Stafford assisted living and memory care floors. The staff and the directors were very caring, and it seemed like they had good activities. They were very accommodating and helpful. The grounds were nice. It's off of Route 1 and can be very busy at certain times of day as there's no stoplight there. During rush hour, there may be some problems getting in and out because of the traffic. The location is between Stafford and Quantico. It's pretty well located. The apartments were fine depending on how much mobility and how much freedom a person wants. It was like a hotel room. The bathroom was in the room. There was enough room for your bed, a recliner, and a very small sofa. It was not huge. For my dad, he would feel very limited compared to living in a house.

Greenfield of Stafford is a nice place. They go on country drives and have a variety of games. They have a new activities director who's fantastic. I've watched them play bingo once. When I left one day, they were throwing a ball into a bucket. I had a couple of meals there, and the menu looks great. My wife was on the 2nd floor, and she wasn’t receiving the care that she was supposed to be getting. When I complained about it to the management, they had that addressed immediately.

If I and my family could rate GSL of Stafford, we would have to say 1 trillion x infinity! We are so eternally grateful for all of the amazingly exceptional care that our mom daily receive 24/7. Min really loves it and is so very happy. Jamie is amazing and so is her wonderful staff. From the time you walk through the cheery foyer, you feel the love and kindness of everyone. It is heaven on earth! They always include the family members with the wonderful activities and are always so happy to share our mom's progress with us. The bottom line is that our mom is so happy and loved not only by our family but by all of the staff of GSL who are our family now!

I like Greenfield of Stafford the best of all. I really can’t afford to go there, but that would be my choice if I could. I thought it was the nicest of all. It was clean, and the people there were extremely nice and knowledgeable. The people are friendly, and it’s a beautiful place. I’m sure I would be very happy there.

Greenfield of Stafford was 2 floors, and the tour was done by one of the nurses; she seemed really nice. They have memory care and assisted living. They have church services, Bingo, an electronic board that showed what was going on that the residents could look at, and therapy dogs that would come in.

I visited Greenfield Of Stafford and felt comfortable. I remember the rooms being quite sunny. They had a well-kept lobby and did not have residents sitting and lounging around in it. The first person who began my tour was very inexperienced, and I didn't really care for her that much. She wasn't really giving me good information. She looked around to see where her boss was before she would talk to me and then said, "Excuse me for a minute." She went and got me the boss and the boss gave me the rest of the tour, which was great and very informative. The boss was top notch and had been there for a long time. I liked the dining room and sitting in the boss's office as she explained a list of things. They brought some of the Alzheimer's patients down who were working together on some crafts. The residents were spread out outside their rooms and interacting with each other. The rooms were nicer than the ones in other places I have looked at.

My father has been at Greenfield of Stafford for about a month and a half now. They were able to accommodate my needs at a relatively rapid pace. It seems to be a very caring community so far. The staff has been really great at realigning my dad. They seem to be consistent with getting stuff that he needs. He likes the bingo, the music, and the ice cream socials. I think they occasionally do outings, like going out for lunch.

I visited Greenfield of Stafford for my aunt. It was very nice, but we just didn’t like the location just off Route 1, which is not a terribly busy highway but the environment was not as pretty once we got off the highway. Once you're inside, though, you wouldn’t even notice the highway since it was very nice inside. They had a library, crafts, and trips. It was a full-fledged facility that was small but nice. They had snacks and a coffee machine, so the residents can go and get their own if they want. The parking lot was convenient, and the facility was homey. The staff was lovely.

Greenfield of Stafford was very nice looking. I was satisfied for awhile, but there was a big transition, and then I was no longer happy with the help mom was getting. There were a lot of problems during Mom's last year there. I was no longer confident that she was getting the proper care. I really liked some of the staff, but some of them could not care less. During the cold weather, I went there several times and her heater was always off, so she sat in the dark feeling cold. I did not want to move her out of there at that point in her life, but I felt she was no longer safe. They had a lot of activities, and Mom loves playing bingo, but they never bothered to bring her there. She was just confined in her room. Over the seven years mom lived there, a lot of the good staff left.

I liked Greenfield. It overlooked Route 1, and I thought it was a pretty decent. The room seemed to be of the same size as the other place. It has a back area where the residents can do some gardening. They said they had activities, and they showed me some specific stuff. It was more expensive.

My mom has been in Greenfield Assisted Living of Stafford since May. It provides everything my mother needs. The staff definitely cares for the people and they are genuine . Most of the rooms are shared rooms. They are similar to rehab centers where you have two occupants in a room, but they make it as homey as possible. My mom loves the food, and she actually gained weight.
They go out once in a while, and they have a schedule for a boat cruise coming up. They have indoor activities like church, exercise, gardening, and so forth. I like it there, and I like having my mom there. I will recommend them to others.

Our experience with Greenford of Stafford is very good. They are taking excellent care of my mom. The physical therapy she is receiving is great. We see the improvement. She is socializing. She seems very happy. She has the care, the room and board, the physical therapist, and the medicine distribution. The room is very large. It can accommodate all her bedroom furniture quite comfortably and a table. Each room has its own heater/air-conditioner. The bathroom is very nice.
They have bible study. They do crafts. They play bingo, and they do some physical therapy as exercise. Occasionally, they go on little field trips. The staff is very friendly and very cooperative, and they always share information with me. It is great. However, I would like to see the bathroom updated to a walk-in shower. I think they do have plans for that, but I'd like to see it sooner than later.

The facility that we ended up choosing for my mother is Greenfield of Stafford. It is affordable, but it is equally as upscale. The treatment, the facility itself, and the rooms are not hospital-like. They are very upscale. We are very satisfied with the place. The staff is very good. They are very responsive. My mother is in the memory care unit. I've gone there 11:00 p.m. as well as 3:00 p.m., and there is the same amount of care and people available. There are at least 25 people in that unit, and there are about 6 people that are on staff all night. The place is well lit. It is pleasant. They have music. My mom is not having any problem with the food and is enjoying her dinners there. What I like best about this place is the environment because I felt like I wasn't in a hospital. These people have a common area where they are all brought together. They have activities. They have a separate living room area where they have couches and comfortable seats and areas for wheelchair to watch a big screened TV. It is comfortable, cozy, and clean. As for the rooms, all of them have windows to the outside.

Greenfield of Stafford was large, and they have a kitchenette in the rooms. The nursing staff really impressed me, and the lady seemed to be very knowledgeable and very attentive. You have to make your own arrangements, and it’s very expensive. I would recommend this place.

I also visited Greenfield Assisted Living of Stafford for my sister. This community has various levels of care. They had some folks who were independent, and then they had some who were in wheelchairs. The upper level is the Alzheimer's unit, and the lower level is for non-Alzheimer's patients. Their rooms were a nice size. They had a mixture of double rooms and single rooms. Back then, the one room that my mother had there was a bigger room, but it was also meant for a double, so my mother had the room to herself. The staff was friendly, and they took time with me. Even the kitchen help was friendly with their residents. The administrator came out and saw me. He remembered me for when my mother was there. Even at the end when my mom passed away, they were very supportive of us. They had church groups that came in every Sunday, they had bingo, they played Wii sports, and they did different holiday festivals. They had a garden center in the back where the residents planted flowers.

This facility is one of a kind. The design and layout is easy for anyone to identify with even those who suffer with memory problems. It is layed out in a manner that benefits those who are more dependent while allowing more independence to the residents that feel they don't need the help. While the staff seemed friendly and polite, I felt there should have been more available. If something was to happen to a resident the efficency to get to them appears to be limited. They do have great activities that the residents can attend such as daily bingo after lunch, live music on Friday's, and helping with arts and crafts. When my grandmother moved on I still returned to see the residents I had come to cherish and many of them thought I was family that had come to visit them. It is great to see such a beautiful place taken care of and the residents so happy. They feel that they are just as independent as they were in they're younger days but they know if they need someone they are there.
