Cave Spring Place was not a real large community. It's fairly small. It had nice rooms. The room that they showed me was like a room that they have set up to show people. I didn't see the room that my husband would be in necessarily. It had its own bath, but it did not have its own shower. The dining area was rather small, but it seemed adequate. They had an area where they could go to watch TV. They had a big, pretty fireplace. It was clean. I didn't see anything that's gross that looked like it wasn't maintained. The gentleman in charge of the place was very nice.

I had an in-person tour of Cave Spring Place. I didn't really get to meet anybody that lived there. As far as I can see about the community and the building, everything was very clean. They have a lot of activities to do, but I didn't see anybody doing anything. What I saw was basically a fancy hotel room. They have two closets. The bathrooms are very convenient. When you walk into the shower, you don't have to worry about falling. It was pretty safe as far as I'm concerned. It was a big room, and it was probably a 15 by 15 room. The staff was very friendly and open. They had a park-like setting in the middle of the building, which was very nice. It was just one level.

We chose Cave Spring Place for several different things. I liked that it was a small facility; we were afraid that my mom would be lost to one of the larger ones. She has moderate dementia. When I visited, the staff there was very, very friendly, and it was very clean. I just had a very good feel about it. It's also very convenient to us as far as access to it. It's convenient for the rest of the family members. We're very happy with it. They're very professional, very friendly, and we're very happy with the care she's getting. The upkeep and cleanliness are very good.

My wife moved into Cave Spring Place 3 weeks ago. It's pretty well maintained and it's been a good experience, she adjusts pretty well. They're very responsive, we haven't had any problems at all with the staff. It's just 1 room and bath. They do have some shared bath. In her stage she doesn't really participate in most of activities. Visiting is very difficult, you can't visit in the room. It's an outside room, they bring her in and they allow you to go in, you have to socially distance, no personal contacting, it's very difficult.

We have placed my brother in Brookdale Cave Spring. I like the location and the quality of the people. My brother seems to be well cared for.

My mom lived at this facility when Brookdale Cave Springs was still Emeritus, but she died in November. The staff was always wonderful to my mom. The residents looked very happy. I would give this facility a 100%.

My family and I liked Brookdale Cave Spring better. The lady who gave us the tour was very nice and helpful. She and my sister chatted a lot about football. The main reason why my sister was not enamored of the place was because it was more of a nursing home. My sister was only 59 years old, and the people there were definitely nursing home residents. The residents that we saw were just walking around the dining room. We haven't really seen any activity going on during our visit there. What we saw instead were people mostly sitting or snoozing. They all seemed to be an older clientele. However, I think the residents like being there.

I did get my aunt in Emeritus at Cave Spring, and she has been there for the last couple of months. For one thing, it is close to my house, so it is convenient. They have a workout room, and they have everything that she at this point in time needs. They offer many activities, but being 91, there's only so many that she can do. As for the staff, I'm working on some little things -- just getting it fine-tuned at this point for her needs. So far, everything is very good. I just have to fine tune some things that are not what I think they should be. As a general thing, it is going very well.

The people are awfully nice. Sometimes the food is good. Sometimes it isn't. All the dining staff is good. I sometimes have difficulty understanding people with different accents. I appreciate when they let me know it is time for a meal.

They give you what you need. They listen to your needs and are helpful to the residents. Some of my favorite activities are bingo, bowling and helping with activities.

It is a safe environment. Everyone is good to me. I take my gripes to the folks in the office. They listen and help me to resolve most issues. I am satisfied. I like people and I like where I live.

We were very impressed with Emeritus. The rooms were adequate. The staff was wonderful. The executive director took us on a tour, and she is really great. The activities director is wonderful, and also the nursing director is really, really good. You could tell the residents love the staff. While we were taking the tour, we noticed that the residents there seemed more engaged than at the other places we visited; they seemed happy. We had lunch, and it was good. They have activities planned every day.

I have to say when I was choosing a place for my mom, I read the reviews and was initially concerned. Well almost a year later, I couldn't be more pleased! My mom has dementia and needs some help with day to day activities and it was very difficult to choose for her to go anywhere but home. Since she moved in, she stays busy with activities and I look forward to visiting to hear her stories of her day. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The management are just as helpful with any question I have ever had. The facility is clean and very pretty. Mom is doing great and as hard as the decision was to make to move her, I am very glad we did!

I recently had a relative enter Emeritus assisted living facility in Roanoke, Virginia, for an extended stay. Sadly, she had been diagnosed with Alzheimer's a year beforehand and was finding her day to day life increasingly difficult to manage. When I visited her in the facility, she was the happiest I had seen her in years. I attest this to the fact that Emeritus is a very quality assisted-living community which offers the most courteous staff I have come into contact with in a very long time. I truly felt like the employees at Emeritus cared about the patients who were under their watch, and were willing to give a little bit extra in order to make sure that they were comfortable and happy. I would highly recommend Emeritus as an assisted living facility to anyone who is looking for housing for a loved one who is getting along in age or may need assistance in their day to day lives.
