My Father stayed at Pheasant ridge for several weeks after a stay in the hospital for physical therapy. He very much enjoyed his stay there thanks to the friendly staff, especially his nurses. He was pleased with his very large room that gave him the ability to have several visitors at once. The cleaning staff did an excellent job making sure his room was always clean. And his physical therapist that worked with him was always very careful and patient with Dad during therapy sessions that he always enjoyed having. If Dad should need more nursing care in the future, Pheasant Ridge will be top on our list. Thanks again for all your help!

This is the worse place possible to send someone. My Family member was there for rehabilitation and they did not do much rehab with her. She was there for 11 days and was never given a bath. The first night she was there they would not even help her to the restroom. The people at the nurses station were rude. They had her stuff packed when I got there in a a box. When I picked up the box everything fell out and no one offered to help pick it up. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS place.

I was admitted to Pheasant Ridge Rehab due to a major injury to the largest bone in my body. I did nothing but lie in my bed on a pad designed to catch your own urine, and that is the condition I stayed in during my entire stay. I remember a breakfast that particularly stands out which consisted of a 1" square of egg casserole along with dry toast that crumbled in my hand upon touching it. As I was discharged, the aide threw some personal cleansing cloths at me & said, "is there anything else you want?" DON'T GO TO THIS PLACE!!!

We had to have assistance for my Father-in-law after a terrible bout with pneumonia. He lived in another stare at the time but needed to be near his Daughter in Roanoke. Mason and his team made it happen seamlessly and my father in law had the best experience and still is taking about his time there. He said the staff was friendly and very helpful. We definitely would choose them again if ever the need would arise.

This facility is antiquated. Little in rehab equipment. Only thing new is flat screen TV. Is this for patients or faculty? New exterior, old interior. Old style hospital beds with old style mattresses. You have to get some kind of bed sore before air mattress. I went close to 24 hours without pain medication, also my roommate. Medication comes from Lynchburg. If yu need office personnel, do not call, go outside to smoking area. There they be. Some every hour on the hour, with some CNA”s. Snacks is pimento cheese sandwich. There are some good CNAs and Nursing, but far and few between. Medication sometimes on time, some not. Revolving door with employees. Office personnel are short and snobbish, for the most part.

I was a resident once. Thank god, not now. Some, very few, caring nurses and aides. That does not make up for other pile of bull. Medication coming from Lynchburg, Va. I went close to 24 hours with a certain med, same as my roommate. I came down with all kinds of infections. Stomach or skin. One man here, bitten by brown recluse spiders. No one inquired or investigated. If you look for office personnel, as a whole, do not call. Go the smoking area. I guess business being done there. Therapy department, very little,as in equipment. Therapists, though are caring and working to their best ability, with meager support. To much drama and back stabbing.

This place is horrible!! The staff is horrible!! They cannot even get the food order right! Physical therapy includes sitting in a wheelchair for several hours watching the staff on their phones. They let patients lay in their own feces to the point of urinary tract infection. I would never recommend anyone to this facility!!

This facility is so inadequate in caring for short or long term patients. The staff not only lacks skilled training, they are void of compassion for the patients needs and comfort in general. Contracting with a pharmacy located in Lynchburg rather than Roanoke puts the patients at risk when the medications are not delivered in a timely manner. While there, I had to wait until 11 pm on the first day for my meds and was in excruciating pain from a knee replacement surgery 3 days prior to entry there. They hire nurses from agencies rather than having full time staff caring for patients which would ensure more knowledgeable and professional staffing. While there, I called out continually, while coughing, for help to be told there was nothing wrong by those "skilled (?)" nurses as well as the physician they called to examine me. Was even told by the female Physician Assistant, there is nothing wrong and that I was not the only patient they were caring for. Finally, after constant suffering and complaining, I was taken to the hospital to find I had blood clots in my lungs. Had it not been for my sister listening to me, I could have died. There are no words to describe how poor the care is and how much a select few try to convince one they are trying to turn it around. If you care about your loved one, DO NOT admit them to Pheasant Ridge....they may not be as lucky as I was. The on staff nurses were more interested in having their smoke break than caring for the patients. It's a sad day in this field when the CNA's take better care and have more compassion than those who supposedly have more education. Again, it you care....do not let them care for your loved ones.

My girlfriend and I came from Wisconsin and Arizona, to visit her mother and brother. Initially, after reading the reviews we had decided to try and move both of them to another facility. Luckily, we were pleasantly surprised. We arrived late Saturday evening (Oct. 8)) and did not smell any odors and it was very clean. We were there daily for 4 days, visiting not just one family member but two. We were never disappointed. The staff was outstanding. We had to make a lot of financial and medical decisions and the staff was understanding and compassionate. We are very happy with the treatment our family members are receiving and would recommend this facility to anyone.

Do not send your loved one there! Drs dont follow written orders, may see you if there golf schedule permits and leave those who cant express a voice rot in their rooms. Hope there's no accident on site. Your loved one will be sent to the ER but you'll never be told. Why? Think about it.

This is not a well-run facility. My father spent the last 6 months of his left here and I experienced it first-hand, even sleeping on the floor of his room once. The vast majority of residents are long gone mentally, so they drift the halls in wheelchairs. There is often the putrid smell of a soiled, bedridden patient. Those who are better off cannot sleep because they are awakened several times a night. They are severely understaffed. The food is a stereotype of the worst imaginable prison food. When my father died, they packaed up all his stuff and put it in the hall before we could even go through it-- they wanted to rush another person into his room (this is a for-profit facility). My father was totally lucid and tortured by this experience.

I was disappointed with Pheasant Ridge because I heard a lot of good stuff about it before. I don't think they have to be blamed at all because my mom was a little combative after her hip surgery. She fell out of bed a number of times. The facility was clean. They had activities for the residents. I was more disappointed in their physical therapy more than anything because they really didn't seem to help her a lot. I don't think they're really trained in dementia. The physical therapist area could have been better and they could have a little more training on how to deal with patients with memory problems.
