Our Lady of Perpetual Help was really nice, but the prices were really outrageous. I would have liked my mom to be in there. The staff was pleasant, the place was clean, they had a lot of activities, the food looked good, and it is closer to where I live if I were to visit mom there, but the prices were just $2,000 more than the other places.

This facility has two sides. One for memory impaired residents and one a nursing home. The memory impaired side is secured separately and has a nice fenced outdoor area for walks. The indoor has a nice seating area and good room for roamers. We chose this location after much research. My mother was well cared for in the one side until she had to be moved into nursing home due to her physical health. The care givers are experienced and patient with the residents.

When you walk in the door you just know this is "home away from home" for your loved one. All of the staff is professional, friendly and genuinely cares for each resident whether they are in the Assisted Living side, Advanced Care or in the Christopher Center for memory care residents. We have a peace of mind, we know my mother is safe at all times and especially during bad weather, preparations are always made and protocols in place. The food served is delicious and it's "home cooking". The activities are scheduled daily and so many great things scheduled. Year round there is entertainment, celebrations and parties for the residents and their families. The Chapel is a peaceful place where we can go at anytime with my mother to just sit and reminisce, listen to the music or go when the services are scheduled. My family and I are so thankful for Our Lady of Perpetual Help and the Loving Care given not just to my precious mother but to each resident daily. I can not say enough about this wonderful facility or the people that work there.

Both my mother and father were residents, my mother for alzeheimers and my father for both alzeheimers and dementia. They were transported there from MA and the change in environment was difficult for them. The staff were excellent in their handling of my parents, insuring that each received the proper medications (on time) that they were properly bathed and cleaned and that their overall daily nutritional intake was monitored. The staff would also insure that my parents were hydrated, a problem with people who have alzeheimers, as they forget to drink and then become dehydrated. My parents were both ambulatory, so they were encouraged to exercise and the staff planned many activities to keep them moving, from daily stretching to walking to bus tours. They even developed an indoor bowling night in the hallway of the building. Most importantly was the ability for us to visit our parents at anytime, unannounced. That gave great comfort knowing that we could do a surprise visit to insure that our parents were being given proper treatment and attention.Another interesting aspect was the smiles on the faces of the staff, administrative and support people. My brother, sisters and I did not see discouraged employees. When my father had difficulty, one of the staff members would assist with his eating while he was at the table with the other residents. That was very dignified in that they would not differentiate him from others who may have been having a better day than he. Finally, when the funds for my parents began to run low, the administrative personnel worked diligently to locate programs and discounts to allow my parents to stay there.

I have voluteered to "visit" to patients who otherwise seldom have anyone visit them while in the nursing facililty. I have always been impressed with the care and services provided by this facility. Also the atmsophere is very homey and clean.

I have visited Our Lady of Perpetual Help many times over the past ten years to visit members of my church. I have always been impressed with the care provided to my elderly friends at this facility, but more importantly, I always look forward to going back. The residents really enjoy themselves at Our lady of Perpetual Help; the caregivers and volunteers always join in for games, meals, and sometimes help the women residents paint their nails. Also, the facility is always clean and the meals are well-rounded and good. The caregivers also host outings so that the elderly residents can get out "on the town" every once in a while. It's a lot of fun to join them on their trips. I've never been to another facility that promotes such great well-being of not only their residents, but their caregivers, employees, volunteers, and visitors.
