My daughter is in Lydia Roper Home, which is beautiful, like an old-timey mansion. It's just wonderful and answered our prayers. It's run by the United Methodist Church. The people working there are beautiful. The cook has been there for 32 years. All of the maids and nurses are so nice. The two ladies in the administration are really precious and really helpful. We're really pleased. It couldn’t be any better. The price, food, and care are good, and it's just a gorgeous place. She has a beautiful room, and they have two huge living rooms for you to take your friends in with huge TVs in both of them. They have a game room, a recreation room, two church services a week, and a beautiful dining room. You can have snacks anytime you want. It's just like being home. It's really beautiful.

I liked the Lydia H. Roper Home, but it had nine stairs that the residents will have to go up to get to the front door, and they had three stories of stairs to walk up if the elevator broke. I thought it was quaint, and the room was kind of small, but it was unique because it was an old house. So they took a regular house and broke it down into rooms, and the room that they showed me was part of the roof, so a part of it was angled off. But still, it had its own bathroom and a nice-sized closet, but it was a small living space. My mom did not want to do stairs, so we couldn't consider this one. They did have activities for the residents like bingo, and I am sure they had outings. They had a calendar of events in front of the lunch room.
