Heat down in both units 3&4,rat traps all around the outside of facility,insolent nurses letting patient lie in their own urine and feces,telling them "you'll just have to wait',no compassion shown at all.I would not send a sick muskrat here.

This is possibly the worst place to ever place your loved one. Negligible, rude, and the most uncaring, unprofessional facility ever. My father-in-law was ignored, the catheter was unemptied even though he was at high risk for infection. Nurses did not care, did not like that you were there asking questions. I had to clean him, wipe him down. Chase down members to help move him in his bed. If I did not go every day not sure he would of made it. Do not send anyone who you love there.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. Shortly after I arrived here I fell out of bed. There were suppose to be 2 CNA during my bed bath. There was only one and she left me alone on my side and I rolled right of my bed. My upper arm was fractured and no therapy was offered. I have type 2 diabetes and I was progressing with maintaining my blood sugar. The food was terrible, either not cooked or cold. A new company has taken over and we no longer get to choose our items for our meals. It has gone so far that you can't get milk without making a request for it even though it is on menu ticket that is on your tray. I could detail many more problems such a CNA told me I should get up and walk because another resident did so with one leg or if I wanted any ice and water I should get up and get it. Since I do not have a place to go, the straw that broke the camel's back is when I ordered my own diapers, someone took them although they were mailed to me and out of the 8 packs I ordered they gave me one. Give me a break. Rooms are terrible in unit I am in with cockroaches. The faucet leaks, the ceiling tiles are stained with water and curtains around the bed are stained. The good staff have left with some who are trying to leave. When I try to resolve some issues, I am met with same sorry excuses of blaming others as there are clicks of CNA's that try to run this place. Poor management. Yes it is a for profit company so any cut backs come at residents expense. If I could leave, I would do so as fast I could.

My friend is doing well at Chesapeake Health and Rehabilitation Center. Her care seems adequate, and it's associated with Chesapeake Regional Hospital. They have Sunday night church services in the dining hall. It's overall very clean and very well maintained; the outdoor area is more than adequate. It's institutional food, but it's adequate. His room is very clean, it's private, and big enough to be a two-bedroom. He has cable TV with sufficient channels.

I spent almost two weeks in rehabilitation in this facility. During this time I found the staff to be very nice hard working people especially shimone, but Chesapeake health care is one of the best rehabilitation centers there is

My husband was in rehab here for 93 days. He had a great private room. The food is excellent and as a spouse I was able to eat with him for 4 dollars. I couldn’t even buy the food for that amount! The physical and occupational therapy are as advertised 7 days a week! They were superior! Any minor issues were promptly addressed. We are going to volunteer here starting next month. We will with a resident’s dietary needs going to be with the staff picking one person each month to visit and bring a meal from a restaurant to them. Thank to the staff and administrator, Greg Y. for allowing us to give back!

I was a patient at the Chesapeake Health and Rehab for approximately two months earlier this year. I can't say enough good things about the care I received. It was above and beyond any of their job descriptions. In addition to the actual outstanding medical care, it was the kindness, and care, and support, and encouragement provided by everyone on the staff at all levels, even during the middle of the night, and even by staff members who weren't even directly working with me but were aware of my challenges with my recovery. There was a constant morale boost which helped to enhance my recovery progression. I will always be greatful for the care I received there which helped me and enabled me to progress in my difficult recovery and return to my life.

My Mother was a patient in 2013. Now, almost five years later, when I go to the facility, staff still remember me and take a minute to say hello. I am amazed at that. While she was there, I received phone calls every day updating me on my Mother's condition. Whereas it was of course a most difficult time, I felt the compassion and concern from all who worked there.

My Father is a current resident and it is not someplace that you can put a loved one in and expect good things without making your presence known frequently. They are understaffed and do not have a very good program to accommodate residents that are disabled. My father is blind, can't walk and does not hear. There is nothing there for him to do but sit in his room in his wheel chair. Occasionally, the recreation staff will come down and try to get him to come to the activities, but when you can't hear or see why bother. I see nothing in the facility for the betterment of disabled residents.

My mother was at Chesapeake, and it wasn’t a really good experience. We weren’t really happy with the care. She was recovering from some medical procedure, and she fell while she was there and got disoriented. The supervision didn't keep her safe. It was very close to the hospital. They must make sure someone with memory issues is attended to and kept safe. The rooms were OK, but it wasn’t cozy enough.

This administration of this facility covers up for the mistakes of his staff. My mother will never regain the quality of life she lost as a patient recovering from a broken arm. Nor the broken hip she suffered while at this house of horrors. Making money is job one; patient care is much farther down on their list of priorities.

If you love your family member, you would never send them here! I had to literally beg for assistance from the staff to aid me in getting care for my grandmother and my cries went unanswered. My father had to come and call 911!
