Harmony at Spring Hill was a very nice facility. It was very open, very clean, and very welcoming. I met with Lara. She was extremely friendly, very informative and had lots of energy. She spoke with residents while we were walking up and down the hallways, which was very nice and friendly, and the residents were friendly, too. She showed me the studio type of bedroom with the kitchen area, and then they also had adjoining bedrooms with a shared bath. I got to see where they eat, and it was nice. I saw the menu. The outside was beautiful. They have a calendar of activities. The rooms were a good size with very tall ceilings, a nice bath, and a closet. It's a newer building. I even spoke with the nurses, and they were wonderful.

I went to Harmony at Spring Hill. They were brand spanking new and shiny, so there's a lot of appeal for that. The staff who assisted me was very friendly and knowledgeable. I also went to the memory care place, and they had a group there that was gathered watching television. They had a couple of people outside sitting in the garden and people socializing as well. They have lots of activities in the assisted living area. They have transportation for medical, which is nice. The rooms were a little bit more spacious than some of the other ones because it's a new building.

Harmony at Spring Hill was nice. It was a nice tour. The person who gave us the tour seemed very well versed in the community. They, too, had a calendar, so they have different events going on every single day. For example, today is a National Philanthropic Day, so they're starting with devotionals and hymns and doing daily chronicles. They're playing cornhole. They have creative crafts, Hello Fall craft thing that they're doing. Then they're playing bingo this afternoon. Wednesday is Homemade Bread Day. Thursday is World Philosophy Day, so they have different days every day.
They had a library. The best thing that they had that no one else had, they had a movie theater room. They watch all kinds of movies in the movie theater and they do a virtual tour, so they go to different places and they dress up like the place that they're going to go. They're watching travel videos from Hawaii and everybody comes in with leis and they do the belly dancing and all of that stuff.
My mom liked that, but she was concerned about the fact that there was no diversity there. It was 98% women and it was 98% Caucasian. Their facility was very nice. It was modern. They built it in 2018, so it's up-to-date. They're building a shopping mall right across the street from them.

We selected Harmony at Spring Hill for Mom. It's about equal distance from my brother and myself. He lives in Fairfax, I live in Kingstown, so it's very accessible. They've got a gated entryway, so they're very secure. One thing that we liked is that there's a new director of sales there, and she was very proactive in getting us to consider that my mom would be better in assisted than memory. We have been looking at primarily memory care because of her cognitive state. She said, "No, we think based on our assessment, she would do excellent in assisted," which would be less restrictive and allow her to be more active, and allow her to participate in activities.
They invited both my mom and myself for lunch, and they had a chance to talk to her, and Mom got to visit and share her stories. Mom actually got to visit with some of the residents, which was pretty important. It was an opportunity to see how they felt about Harmony, see what are some of the things that they liked, and the fact that they liked the activities. They had good dining options and good medical professionals there with physical therapy, and primary care, and a podiatrist. It was nice to be able to visit with them in person with my mom there, and I liked that they had a good range of activities for seniors her age and her cognitive abilities. They had a nurse come to our house to do a cognitive assessment, and based on that, they determined the level of care.
They gave us a wonderful incentive. They gave us a rate lock that was good for April. We signed a lease in April and we were able to lock in her room rate, which is a very nice studio room for as long as she's there, so we will not be paying an increased room rate every year. Normally, they have a 5-7 percent increase in that fee. Because my mom has a five-year policy, this gives us an insurance that after that, she's still there after the policy ends, that we will only be paying that fixed price for her room. They also made the first month $99, so they basically gave us the first month for free.
Every time we spoke with them, they basically gave us a little bit better pricing, which told me they wanted Mom to be part of their community, and they really wanted to convince us that they were the right place. So, we made that decision, and we signed a lease, and we selected a room for her. Now, it's just a matter of getting the administrative things taken care of prior to her move-in. I liked their security, too, you can't just go in. You have to buzz through a gate to allow your car to go through before you can even get to the front door.

I went to Harmony at Spring Hill. They're more expensive than the other place we looked at, but the staff was good, professional, and knowledgeable. The grounds were really nice, and the layout was nice. It's a gated community, and I liked that. They had a barbershop. The building was really nice. It felt like a hospital or a senior home setting, but it was clean and smelled good.

We have signed the lease to move my aunt and uncle into Harmony at Spring Hill; we are setting up furniture and everything to get ready for them. I went with them to look at the place. The staff is very friendly, we came a few times, and we know them more now, and in just a few days, they knew us. It's just like home and family. The sales rep is very friendly, very helpful, and responsive. It's very nice and clean, the apartment is larger than the other place that we visited, they have two-bedroom, two-baths, which was what they needed. It's kind of neat too, so everything was nice. One of the factors that made us decide on this besides the apartment itself was the money. They have a special for veterans they called the veterans package. They gave discounts on the rent, community fees, and they have a lot of financial incentives that make the rate much lower than others.

We have visited Harmony at Spring Hill and my father is in there now. We are very happy with Harmony at Spring Hill. The meals are very nice. He has been in isolation, which is required for the first two weeks, but it looks nice. His apartment is beautiful. The facilities are very nice and the value for money is very nice. The area looks nice, but he can't take advantage of it. It's a nice, quiet neighborhood.

The Crossings at Spring Hill is excellent. It's a very fine and awesome facility. It's very clean, friendly, well-kept, and just the place where I see my mother living. They keep people very active and they incorporate the community that surrounds them. The staff member who showed me around was very friendly, knowledgeable, and excellent.
