It's been almost a month since my 91-year-old mother passed away from lung cancer (4/22/19). This is my first opportunity to thank the entire health care team at Guggenheimer for providing a high level of care and during my mother's last six weeks, making her stay as comfortable and peaceful as possible during a very difficult period for her and the family. I personally witnessed a team of nurses, therapists and aides who showed devotion and compassion to mother's emotional and physical care as she transitioned from Guggenheimer's health an rehabilitation center to its long term care facility and, finally, to it's Hospice Center during her last days. The administration demonstrated great class allowing us to bring her pet cat for a visit so that my mother could say her heartfelt goodbye. Saying goodbye to a loved one -- especially your mother -- is a painful experience but the people at Guggenheimer helped us cope with our grief. For that, we will always be grateful. Thank you, Guggenheimer.

Had a generally positive experience until the day my father was discharged from rehab at Guggenheimer. They discharged on Friday at 4:00 pm with not enough of his prescription meds to last through the weekend. The meds were prescribed through Guggenheimer but they would not call in a prescription nor provide enough of his meds to last. The only reply was that a refill needs to be established by a primary care physician. That's unacceptable for critical medicine with not enough to last the weekend with a holiday coming up on Monday too. The lead nurse was also very argumentative while discussing this issue. Unacceptable.

I was pleased on how they treated my uncle there. They kept him clean and the nurses there treated him good. He bound a relationship with them. I am pleased with this facility and the way they treat they residents.

The facility was very clean and the staff for the most part kept things out of the way of aisles. There are a good number of activities for the admitted that are available to those that can walk about by themselves, such as a lounge and outdoor porches. While my mother and grandmother were admitted into the facility, I was pleased with the care they received under the facility staff. I could tell that the staff care for the patients in the facility. I recall one instance in which I arrived from grocery shopping for my mother, a female nurse helped me carry her groceries from the ground floor entrance, even though I insisted it was fine. The staff always knew the amenities my relatives needed, like the time my mother need glucose (she is a diabetic) and were helpful when my overly obese grandmother needed help moving around in bed (she could not do it on her own). I am grateful that my grandmother was admitteAd into Guggenheimer for the service she received, all the way until the day she died there, some of the staff even attended the funeral.

Three years ago, my husband and I made the difficult decision to get help taking care of his mother, who was 73 and in need of more care than we could provide. We weren't willing to place her anywhere that wasn't as comfortable as our home (where she had been living with us since 2001), or where we did not think she would be happy. We chose the Guggenheimer for two reasons: one, its friendly and accessible staff. Two, the availability of religious services on a regular basis, which is something that Nancy enjoys. She had made friends there and acclimated quickly ... we live quite close to this facility as well so we are able to visit her often. It's a nice place to visit, I enjoy going there. The staff have also been extremely helpful and compassionate as her health has declined. We made the right decision for her, and I'm thankful for the quality care she has received.
