I am in the Carriage Hill. Everybody here is over 55. There aren't any children, just senior citizens. They have a plan where the rent includes utilities. It looks very nice and very well kept-up. All the apartments were built around 1979. They have a good maintenance staff and also have a landscaping service that takes care of all the flower beds, cutting the grass, and pruning the trees. The apartment I am in is very nice. It has a kitchen and dining area, a bedroom and one bath, and it is very large. I am very pleased with it. They have two courtesy vans and a calendar of where they are going, what day they are going, and what time. The staff is fantastic.

Carriage Hill is presently independent living and will add assisted living next year. The only apartment we saw was the model, but we were given several floor plans, and the layout really looks pretty good. The lady we talked with was very kind, and the grounds are pretty well-kept. The rates are very reasonable, and they have units that have individual entrances from outside so you're not in a big building so you're not going to get probably as connected with other residents. But they have a nice community room with billiards, a weight room, and a hundred activities scheduled per month. I think we could get a good sense of community there. They just don't have the class as the other two facilities we visited.

I am in Carriage Hill Apartments. They came up #1 as far as senior living here in Richmond, and that sort of impressed me. They are bigger than the normal apartments. The living room and the dining room are fairly big. It's a smaller kitchen, but still bigger than the other ones that I had looked up. The bedroom is large. I have a king-sized bed and a lot of other stuff. They really do a lot of activities, like lunches, happy hours, potlucks, and bingo.

I like the size of the apartment at Carriage Hill and I also like the amenities that they offer. It's close to one my friends and that is one plus. The place is very nice and the staff seemed available if there is anything wrong and if something has to be corrected. They have a bus that takes you to various places for shopping and that is also a big plus because I don’t have a car. The staff is very helpful. They did have a community center where you can use computer. They have a pool table, exercise room, and they have books if you want to borrow. They also have nice walking areas between buildings. This building has two floors but I am one the first floor so it's much easier for me.

I wanted to have a community that would allow me to still have the freedom of a balcony, a gated community, and a light and airy apartment. Carriage Hill Apartments fit the bill for me. It gave me everything that I was looking for. The amenities are off the chart. I have a large apartment. I can also get breakfast for around $2 and lunch for $2.50 only, with free coffee all day. There's a huge and beautiful pool. They do trips, have yard sales, and all 50 activities in a month. The people here are so friendly. I came a couple times to just ride around and talk to them to see what the feedback would be. All the feedback was so wonderful. I came here about 5 times before I made my final decision. The price is great too. They also give a lot of wonderful discounts on different things like on your cable bill. It's a wonderful community, and I'm loving it.
