I toured Bright Leaf Place. The rooms were a decent size. They have a couple of different little outside areas where the residents can do gardening and whatever they feel like doing. I appreciate the fact that there was memory care right there onsite, to make an easy transition if the time came. The staff who gave me the tour was very warm, open, helpful, and answered all the questions I had. They offered us the food but I didn't partake of any. The facility was very clean and I liked the layout. They don't have physical therapy but they provide transportation to an outpatient physical therapy.

It was a very nice place; however, they did not accept Medicaid. They were very nice and took me around to the rooms they had available. I met some of the staff. The room we were looking at was a large room with private bath, and it was very nice. The part that we looked at was for the dementia and Alzheimer's patients. They had social activities for the patients and a social director. I liked Brookdale because it was secluded away from the hassle and bustle. It was a laid-back, easygoing place. Everybody was nice and cordial. The patients seem to be well cared for.

We had chosen here. They were very nice and easy to work with. The place was nice. The staff was very friendly with great communication. It was affordable and clean. They had social activities, but it all depends on whether you were on the assisted living or memory care side. They had nurses on staff. They had transportation to other social activities. They just constantly had things going on every day.

The rooms were huge. The place was very clean. There was never any odor. The staff were very easy to get along with and they are wonderful. They have a lot of different activities for the residents. They have t-shirt designing, t-shirt painting, and all kinds of craft activities. They have bingo. They have parties with the residents. It was a very interactive area.
