Terrible place. Food is terrible. Aides were bad. Scary place. I would not recommend this place at all

The staff at Golden Livingcenter - Rose Hill was nice, but they had too many people per staff member to take care of. The rooms were small and the halls were crowded with equipment. They would never get the people out of there if there was an emergency. The food wasn't good at all. The outside looked better than the inside.

For my husband's grandmothers final couple of years, they were spent at Rosehill Nursing Home due to the severity of her alzeheimers disease. The location was in Berryville, VA, in a centralized, yet quaint location. There was adequate parking. The landscaping was beautifully designed. Upon entering the facility, it feels immediately like home. The staff were very welcoming, all but one staff member I ran into there always said hello in passing and looked pleasant. The cleanliness was outstanding. I don't think I ever smelled "old person" smells at all while traveling towards my husband's grandmother's room. While she was basically back to that of an infant, the staff tried to involve her in the vast amounts of activities they had. There was a wealth of activities going on throughout the day. They had themed weeks at times to keep it interesting. The staff was very attentive to my husband's grandmother. Each time I visited they would update me on how she did the past few days ( I tried to visit every couple of days since I have 3 young children who keep me busy). They encouraged interaction, be it allowing her a treat from the outdoor world, or painting her nails, or bringing toys for her to play with. We were allowed to keep a toybox there for her. She loved my son's rattle. I don't have a negative thing to say about the facility. Nursing homes scare me. I have had some negative past experiences and hear horror stories all the time. We were very lucky to have had such a wonderful nursing home. I would recommend this facility to anyone.
