Do yourself and your loved ones a favor and look elsewhere. I have a parent in memory care (they call it "Life Stories"), and it has been horrible since day one. Why don't you move your loved one, you say? Well, the pandemic meant we weren't allowed in the facility for a year, so the shortcomings were hidden. We didn't begin to discover the issues until things opened up. There is also the concern of "transition trauma" when dealing with dementia. So we that we would have faith that corrective actions would be taken when we raised concerns. From time to time we saw evidence of this, and then there were some needed staffing changes (the former executive director and head of nursing were both a joke). unfortunately, their replacements have proven even worse. The replacement head of nursing has left, and a replacement has not been found. The new executive director, in place nearly a year now, has actually made things worse. Leadership matters, and all I can say is what I have witnessed over the past six months or so is a severe decline in care (can you at least brush the residents teeth?), as well as staff attentiveness & empathy towards this vulnerable population, internal and external communications.......the list goes on. There have been clear signs of neglect in many resident cases. They staff caring for the dementia residents simply don't care, they are there to punch a clock, and the executive director is apparently incapable of affecting any change. This is a failure of his leadership, and frankly, a failure at the corporate level as well. I keep hearing promises.......they keep failing to live up to them.

My Grandmother lived here for a short time and the care she received was terrible. We should've picked up on the red flags (lack of communication, poor hygiene, rapid decline in health - just to name a few) but after her 3rd fall (that we know of) and 2nd trip to the ER, we decided to move her. I'm so glad we did. Her new facility is wonderful but unfortunately it has made us realize how bad her care at Hunters Woods at Trails Edge really was. Please think twice before sending your loved one here.

If I could give Hunters Woods at Trails Edge zero stars I would. A close family friend was moved in during the height of the pandemic. Hunters Woods was being entrusted with all aspects of this persons care. Unfortunately since her move in date there have been many red flags; including but not limited to, lack of communication, decline in the level of care, not administering proper hygienic practices, poor bedside manner and medication changes without notification-- just to name a few. I would not recommend this facility to anyone.

An older relative was moved into memory care at HWTE earlier this year. Since her arrival, there have been more than a few instances where there has been lack of communication from staff regarding general care, and also in relation to particular incidents. I have been thoroughly disappointed with the level of care in regards to bedside manner, medication administration, hygiene, and everything in between. Unfortunately, the lack of appropriate care has correlated directly with her decline.
