This place needs to be shut down ..I came there for physical therapy from a massive heart attack ..the care I received was a cna screaming at me when I asked for another bed that the one they had me in I couldn't sleep in ...when asked for meds..it took them 2 to 3 hours to receive it....the nursing staff was always very hateful and when I asked for a cup of water because pitcher of water wasn't provided for you at your beside it would take 2 to 3 hours to get it...I would walk to the desk to get it myself and they would tell me to go back to my room ...Eventually I passed out I had to be taken to the ER at Bluefield Hospital and everything is on file there ...I was highly dehydrated and had to receive several units of fluids....My daughter was on the phone basically everyday with Administration because of the terrible care I received there I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone ...I felt endangered there ...they had a patient that walked around naked with a Foley catheter going into our rooms ...so I couldn't sleep ...yet when I told administration they denied and lied about but me and God knows the truth ...please close their doors...

Always short staffed but honestly so is every other nursing home. Nursing staff is very nice & helpful except for one CNA, I’ve never seen her do anything but be on her cell. No one ever answers the door but they claim they have a desk person to do that? The only person I’ve ever seen at the desk is an older woman who also is always on her phone. My brother won’t attend the programs they have because he said the lady that runs it is lazy & lets another patient run things? I am always at the building & the lady in the front office is always there & will let me in or out but when trying to pay the bill with her the phones kept ringing & she had to answer the phones the whole time. They need to get more help so the staff they do have aren’t worked to death.

My mother was at Westwood Center before she passed. It's a part of Genesis Care, and it's for rehabilitation and nursing. It's in Bluefield, and they were really good with her. They found that she had spleen and liver cancer that was super aggressive. They were really attentive to her there. Everything was really convenient. The rooms were easy to find, and they were nice and clean. They have a barbershop, a beauty salon, a sunroom, and a cafeteria. The food was catered for each person and whatever they required. The facility was very secure and nice.

This facility has very few bad things going on with it. All of the staff is very caring and helpful. They are very prompt in assisting their tenants with any reasonable request they may have. The food was always served warm, and tasty. They gave different menu options catered to the different people's diets as directed by a doctor. Westwood had a many different activities for their residents such as, Bingo, Movie Nights, Bridge Nights, and other different board games. The only bad thing that I have to say about this place is there seemed to be a lot of outbreaks of contagious diseases. Such as one time the whole place was locked down because a lot of the residents were contracting the flu, although everything seemed very clean and sanitary. Good overall Nursing home in my opinion.
