I went to The Retreat at SunRiver St George and the manager there wanted $2700 upfront which I won't get back because they're going to put a new carpet and a new floor in. I just didn't like his attitude. They didn't have all the facilities, like a pool and all that. It was new, but it looked depressing to me. There's not a lot going on there. It was almost like a nursing home to me instead of assisted living. They had patios in the rooms and a little patio in the back of the building. The dining room looked nice.

I went to The Retreat at SunRiver St George. I had contacted them via email and set up a meeting time to include a tour, and the administrator was very pleasant. The meeting was punctual. She showed me around the entire facility and also sat down, showed me some particulars about the facility as well, and I was able to get a pamphlet to take home with me to show my mother. I thought the experience overall was very good.
The building itself was fairly new. It was a newer assisted living facility in Saint George. I felt that the rooms themselves were good. They're a little bit on the small side, but if you're a single person, you probably don't need that much space, but at least I was able to get in and see and look at one of their apartments. They offer single bedrooms and a couple of double bedroom apartments. I was glad that at least they had a little bit of choice when it came to the type of apartment.
They had a small seating area off of the apartments. They had balconies on the second floor, a walkout little patio on the first floor for the individual apartments, and it looked like there was another little walkway surrounding the building that had some seating areas, too. The administrator was very professional, friendly, and very informative.

My in-laws have moved into The Retreat at SunRiver. They have been there for a couple of weeks now. I like everything about it. It was the cleanliness of the facility, the attention that they get, the price, and their care. We like the size of the property. It was a little bit smaller, so they were a little more intimate as far as knowing all the people that live there. Because of our religion, they actually had church on the premises that my in-laws could attend; so that was a big thing for us also. All of the staff is wonderful.
There was a lot of add-ons at a lot of the different places that we looked at, . At The Retreat at SunRiver, some of the basic needs that they had were already included in the monthly price (as far as their assistance and being there for them). My father-in-law has a little button that if he needs any type of assistance, he just has to push the button and they'll come help him; that was included in the price. The dining room was wonderful. They would come and get them; then they would escort them down to the dining room if they needed help. There was a lot of the basic care that was included. We haven't been able to sample their food, but my mother- and father-in-law love the food.
Their rooms looked like it's new. The Retreat at SunRiver hasn't been there too long. It's probably about less than 10 years old. Upkeep and everything is in great condition and well-thought. They have activities every day.

The Retreat at SunRiver is a place where you go when you can't take care of yourself but you still can do a lot of things. There are some people in there who can take care of themselves as well. It' lovely. When I went there I wasn't even looking for a place for my stepmom. I went there to visit some friends. I had several friends that lived there, and they absolutely loved it. My friends could eat all their meals there. They had activities for the people to do. They had transportation to doctors' appointments and things like that. They have doctors that can actually go there to visit people that can't get out, but they have the transportation for the people who can. They loved the food. I never tasted it, but my friends that I went to visit said it was very good.

The Retreat at SunRiver St. George was very nice and very up-to-date. The staff was pleasant. I wouldn't mind living there myself. The rooms were a little on the small side, but they were very nice. The dining area was very nice too. They showed us some activities. They have a hair salon and a movie theater. It had a pleasant atmosphere.

I am living in The Retreat at Sun River. It seems OK. They have a lot of activities like bingo, trivia, and various card games, and they go on shopping trips once a week. Some of the staff is good and some, not so good. They have a big turnover on staff, and it doesn't seem like there is always somebody there to really help you.

We have chosen a place for my husband. It’s The Retreat at Sunriver. It’s relatively small, but it feels comfortable like you’re not going to get lost. The main issue is that it has a memory unit. It has an advance care unit for memory issues, so that’s the main reason. The staff is very caring and conscientious. They make my husband feel very comfortable that they care about him, so that’s very important. The food is good. The food is served under a predictable schedule, which is really good for him.

The outside of The Retreat at Sun River is a very large expanding resort area. The facility itself is very new and gorgeous. I looked at the rooms at the assisted living and memory care. The rooms are very nice and spacious for the assisted living. They are very nicely finished. The bathrooms are large and spacious as well. As for the activities, they have small groups of 12 residents and they have three caretakers at all times. They have a lot of activities in an enclosed area. Nobody gets lost and everybody is included in the activities.

The Retreat is very lovely, and brand-new. It’s like one meal everyday you have to eat. It’s a golf course community, and very huge development. They have their home in there. It’s lovely. There’s a huge beautiful clubhouse. The assisted-living is within the community; that’s the whole idea of it. My dad had a stroke in February, that’s why they had to move there.
There’s a whole new building, and they just open the second one. You still have all the amenities. You can see the golf course, the big clubhouse, and the library; it’s quite lovely. They have meals, library, and game rooms. They have a beautiful bar, and grill area that overlooks the golf course. It’s a very different experience. It’s like a resort.

My friend is at the Retreat at Sun River. The facility is a nice place but the food is terrible. My friend eats cheese sandwiches for supper and Jell-O for dessert. The residents don't do enough exercises and they just have TV for entertainment. The staff members seem to be okay but the chef looks unclean. He puts on a white shirt and a bib that are always dirty. That's really unpleasant for a classy place like that, with a grand piano and big fish aquarium at the entrance way.
