Brookdale Ennis was an older place. It's maintained, but you could see some age to it. My only complaint with them was that everything was a la carte. With my mother-in-law's care being a la carte, it would bring the bill up to $5400 a month. They wanted $750 a month for medication management. Everybody was very attentive though. When we were walking around the location, I saw a lot of the staff working with the residents and they had plenty of personnel to take care of them.

My sister-in-law and I visited this facility. Heather took our information and showed us around. It is a very nice facility and the tour was positive and informative. The distance was farther than expected for us, however, the workers were friendly and we came away with good information.

I didn't like Brookdale Ennis. They didn't have memory care. My mother has Parkinsons, so I would have to move her again, that's why we didn't choose this place. It seemed older and a little dingier, so it's not a good fit. Their location is fine, and they're in a good place. It looks pretty on the outside and it's in a good area. I met one lady, she was the manager, she was very nice, and she showed us around.

My mother has moved into Brookdale Ennis. I'm very pleased with them. The staff members are easy to work with and they keep me informed. I couldn't ask for better staff to look after my mother. Her room is very nice. It has a little bedroom, a little sitting area, a little kitchenette, and the bathroom is easy to get into. She's been in quarantine and I can't go in there, but it's a good location, easy to get to, nice, and clean. We've been inside to set up her room, and that's pretty much it.

My mother has been at Brookdale for 2 years. We absolutely love it! She could not be happier there . The staff is excellent and she has developed a great relationship with the staff and some of the residents. It is perfect for us! I can't imagine having her anywhere else.

Everything is great, except the food. Not only does my relative complain about it but several other people have told me they can't hardly eat it and sometimes don't. This is not a cheap place to live and the food should be a lot better. The night I stayed to eat with my relative the service and meal was very disorganized.

I've been to the Sterling House, and I was quite impressed. It was very clean. The staff seemed to be very nice. You felt good when you went there. You didn't feel like you are in an old folks' home. It's very open and friendly. The apartment is clean and airy. There was no smell. My friend that was staying there seemed to be enjoying it. She said it was nice.

Sterling House is made in a square, but in the middle, it's like a garden. It's grass, but you can go outside, and you can just sit. You don't have people coming in off the street. It's very tranquil. I had my mom living there a number of years. What I liked when I went is some of the same staff was there when my mom was at Sterling House. I think that speaks well for it. They have 3 different room choices, but all of them are single occupancy. There's the smallest, which doesn't have a separate living room. The middle size has a living room space that's attached to the bedroom. The larger one, there are no doors between the living room, but it's more defined. When my mother was there, I ate lunch with her frequently, and the food was fine. They allow small pets. There's a fellow who comes in and plays his guitar, and they do a sing along. They do some arts and crafts, some card games, and bingo. They have a mini-bus, and you make trips to Wal-Mart and to the grocery store. Family members are free to come and get you and take you to the restaurants.

I visited Sterling House. The staff were very nice and very accommodating. They have a beautiful yard and it's really relaxing. You can see that the residents are well groomed and I guess they are eating the right food. The dining area is very spacious and it's like a restaurant, I must say. I like the place because they have a home-like environment. Two of the lady staff that I spoke with were very nice and tried to tell me a lot about the living lifestyle in the community. The only thing that I wasn't able to get this facility for my mom is their pricing. They were out of my range, that's why we didn't use them for mom. But it is a very beautiful community.
