I was at Petal Hill Nursing & Rehabilitation Center. It started out high, but with the change in management it went down. The first years were great, I had no problems. Otherwise, I wouldn't stay that long. I left the place and that weekend I went to the emergency room with a UTI, and kept telling them that something was wrong with me, but no one paid any attention. So, they had a nursing staff who really didn't give a darn. The previous staff was caring though. I don't know what the new management did to the staff, but they just didn't care. The maintenance was not that great, and the food was either overcooked or undercooked. It was hardly edible, and this was all in the last year. The activities were OK. They had stuff that interested me. Before COVID, there were outings, bridge playing, dominoes, bingo, calisthenics, and cooking classes. They had all kinds of good activities that kept us busy. The activities director that had all this stuff going on retired, and after that they kept changing. They went all down to just bingo, but people wanted to do something else other than just bingo.

I have visited The Clairmont Nursing Home approximately ten times over the past three years. The Clairmont has recently been renovated (within the past couple of years) and has become a very nice looking home. I have had positive experiences while visiting with nursing home staff. They provide a good therapy program designed to help residents become more independant and possibly be able to go back home. The nursing home has 120 beds but it does not have that large nursing home feel to it. I have had a couple of friends that were residents of this nursing home and both them and their family was pleased with the care. I would trust placing loved one in this nursing home. The Clairmont is in a good location being within a mile of two hospitals and nearby many doctor's offices. While I believe this is a high quality care facility, I believe the food is average to below average from what I've seen.
