Everything at Brookdale Hamilton Wolfe was nice. I don't know how to explain it, but there's something about it I didn't care for. I didn't meet anybody other than the lady who showed me over. It was just kind of like, "Well, here is this, here's where they are."
The rooms were nice. You had to get your furniture. That is not a big problem at all. The rooms are huge, but they're not in them except to sleep.
The dining area was nice. Everything was like a big square. You had to walk down this hall, then you went to another hall, and you came back down, and you had to go back across. It seemed more like a hospital. Their grounds were very nice, there's this big outdoor place and everything. They were finishing up lunch by the time I got over there. The staff who gave me the tour was wonderful.

My mother is at Brookdale Hamilton Wolfe. It is assisted living and memory care. She needs memory care because she has dementia, but she also is on hospice. She gets additional care for her kidney failure. Everybody has been very nice and accommodating, and I feel like there are a lot of things that my mother likes about being there. She always talks about how good the food is. She has a roommate, so at least she's not alone. Everybody to my knowledge has been very nice. They try to keep them engaged in activities and music. She's in a much safer place with them. Especially with dementia, it's really hard when she has aware days and unaware days, so I feel like they handle that as well as they can. She has a room with windows with a view. She has a walk-in shower and toilet, and she shares the restroom. She has a closet. She has everything she needs. So far, I'm completely satisfied. The staff has been great. The value for money is very fair depending on the care.

My father was in Brookdale Hamilton Wolfe before he passed away. However, we liked Brookdale, the people were really nice, and the hospice was very good. He was there for less than 2 weeks. We were satisfied with the care, Brookdale hospice was very good, very caring, and as far as the center, there were only a couple of days where he was participating with the activities, but the people seemed to be really nice, the place seemed to be clean and they were concerned about him. Overall, it was a good experience. He was in a shared room, but it was a nice room. They played games with the people, and they had songs and dancing.

I had my Mom here for 1 year. As the year progressed they kept adding things I had to pay for. After a year the rent went up $500 dollars. You have to provide everything including the toilet paper!!!!They went through at least 3 directors in the year Mom was there. One of the fees was $49 a month for mom to see the doctor. When I check dates to file paperwork it turned out Mom had not seen the doctor in 6 months! Apparently the doctor was still writing perscriptions without seeing Mom and the staff was filling them and giving her meds. I filed a complant with the state and the medical board but nothing was done. The staff on the memory care unit were very nice, but as I live out of the country I felt very betrayed with the care my Mom received. The day I moved my Mom out I met another caregiver who was also moving her loved one out. Her bill was up to almost 10,000 a month! Due to my bad experence at this Brookdale not only will I EVER trust any Brookdale agin but I will never use a corporate run facility again. I was lucky enough to find a family run facility with 3 local locations. My Mom has been there for 8 months and her care is amazing! Corporate places are only in it for the money and the office staff at this location was terrible.
