I had a friend who was a resident who recently passed. It always amazed me every time I came to visit how well everyone treats one another and the residents. The staff are welcoming and friendly, the amenities made you feel as if you were staying at a resort. The rooms are spacious and homey. The food is top restaurant quality, and I will always recommend this facility.

I have visited a few times for events and volunteer work. The rooms are very large and nice. The staff was nice and helpful when I've visited. They had a very large Thanksgiving meal this year which was really fun, you can tell the staff worked hard at putting it together, and they had live music. The activity department seems to do a lot of stuff with each unit (there are 5, its a HUGE facility). The courtyard has a putt-putt golf course and creek that is really pretty and is good for people in wheelchairs even.

My husband was a resident of Legacy at Town Creek and he was in the Sarah center. It was not good for him and we moved him. It was just too big. We were not happy with the care he was getting there. It was not working for my husband. He was not getting the attention he needed. Maybe there just was not enough staff for the number of people they are trying to serve, so they may be a bit stretched. You would hope that the staff are fully trained in caring for dementia patients, but not everyone displayed that. They would pull in people from a different unit who never worked on that unit before. Sometimes, they had to call in agency nurses, so it would be a different nurse every day and I was worried that they did not know the clients well enough to know how to care for them. That was my main concern. They have areas for different needs and the Sarah Center is supposed to be for dementia patients. His room looked like a storeroom and you would have to do a lot to make it look decent. It was not very bright or appealing and it was very small. The security was very good. I did not see any activities other than a TV. He was supposed to be provided special meals, but they were not good.
