Despite all the horror stories that you hear about nursing homes, Cartmell Nursing home is a great facility. Two of my grandparents and my father have been residents there. The facility was always kept clean. The staff always seemed concerned and caring towards my family members. I can only remember one instance where we had an issue with an employee and that person was let go soon after from what I understand. The rooms are much nicer than other homes that I have visited and the residents are allowed to personalize their own room. They have plenty of activities going on to keep the residents busy as well. Even the food was good when I have eaten there with my father. My mother has already stated that her wish was to go to Cartmell when she is too old to to take care of herself. I would not hesitate to recommend it to a friend.
