We welcome pets and encourage our residents to flourish in mind and body by offering a variety of activities, such as bingo, live music, church services, arts and crafts, exercise classes, and card and board games. We also get outside for our delicious barbecues. We always offer high quality assisted living to provide the comfort and care our residents deserve.

My mom is at Sabine Place. They take care of her meals and laundry, and they make sure her room is clean. They also give her her medicine, they make sure she has a visit from a nurse each week, and if there is any problem, they take it to the next level. But it is what we pay for there, so she gets pretty good care. I like the fact that it is not a really big place because it is hard for her to move around, but she does get around pretty well on her own. I think it has the minimum amount of things in the room that she really needs. She has a sink, a little kitchen area, a bathroom, and kind of a space where her bed is with a nice big closet. It is plenty for her. She has an area that would be like a den where her TV is, so it is pretty nice. They have had some changes in personnel since COVID started, and the ones I knew the best are gone. I like the place, and it is really nice inside. It does not have a bad smell; they're very up on that, and they have people who try to keep it clean. To me it is very nice to visit. My mom says the food is not perfect, but it is good. For the activities, I know they have them, and things were very nice before COVID. I think they're trying to have some things for the patients and residents now. It is a little expensive, but I know from trying and checking with other places that it is comparable with others in Texas. When you look at the place yourself, you would be able to see that it is kept up and nice. I have seen different places, and they try to keep them up, but if it is a very old place it is hard, so it makes a difference when you're trying to decide where you're going to put your loved one.

I've only been here less than a week in Sabine Place and I'm quarantined. I have a lot of people checking on me, the food is very good, it's clean, and everybody is really nice. I don't really know how it's gonna go because I'm quarantined for COVID. It's a small place, there are only 36 apartments which is at full capacity, and there are only 36 residents. Of all the assisted living places, this fit me better because I'm in a wheelchair and things are at my height. Most of them are not wheelchair-accessible. They've offered me puzzle books and all that sort of things, but I haven't had any interactivity with the residents. They don't offer Bridge; that's not their fault that nobody here plays bridge but me.

My aunt and uncle had lived in here at one time. We are considering this place again for my aunt who has early stages of dementia. Everything was wonderful about this place. It was built in a square and then in the center, residents can go out there and enjoy the sunshine. They let you bring your pets and you can let them run loose out in that area. We also got a chance to see their rooms. Personally I think their rooms were really small, but I understand why they need to be small so that it would be easier for the person living there to get around. My cousin and I and my aunt went there at lunch and we were introduced to one of their chefs. They just went out of their way to make sure we knew everything we needed to know. Their staff was friendly. They also made sure that residents come out and mingle. They have many activities like bingos and movies. It was a really nice place.
