I toured Magnolia Court Assisted Living & Memory Care. It's too far to drive. I only live 10 minutes from the other facility, and it's like 30 minutes away from Magnolia Court. It doesn't have the nature aspect where the facility is located. It doesn't have that open large nature area. It has a busy street and well established. It just didn't have the nature aspect to it. The tour was really good. I met a lady named Maxine, and I really was impressed with her. She was very nice. The place was very good. They're in the process of remodeling it right now. They offer the same basic services. The apartments are small. It's an older facility. The units, the cabinets, the countertops, and the bathrooms aren't as nice.

My sister is living in Magnolia Court Assisted Living and Memory Care. I haven't been back since my sister's been there, but she's been happy up till now and since they changed owners, she's not happy with that. It was about three years ago that I went there, with a friend, and the rooms were roomy. We were there for dinner. They invited us for dinner and dinner was very good. And it was just whatever they were having that day, there was nothing special for us. The staff was very friendly and took us on a nice tour and showed us as much as they could for the rooms. We talked to the office staff as well as some of the other staff who were there, and very comfortable. They provide exercise for everybody. Also, my sister does exercise every day. That's good for someone to keep healthy. It's well cared for.
The new owner discharged some of the staffing that she liked. So they're short-handed and those people have been replaced. That's one of the things she's unhappy about. They frequently have entertainment, they take people to places if they can, if they feel up to it and can do that, they have gone out to places to eat. They take them to doctor's appointments or get their hair done, although they have facilities inside too for things.
She judged things pretty high, until they changed ownership. I'd say Texas, in general. is not as expensive as Ohio, so it's a better deal. She's got a 2-bedroom apartment, and I think it's four thousand a month.

Magnolia Court Assisted Living & Memory Care has lots of activities for the residents that are more stimulating than those I saw at other facilities. We were able to reserve a one-bedroom apartment that was a really good size. It would accommodate more of his furnishings so he'd feel more at home. They also had a larger number of staff than the other facilities that I visited. They have more aides to help with patients during the day, and they have two nurses on staff, rather than just one. The staff was very friendly and very helpful. I spent more time at that facility than I did in the others. They were just really good at answering questions, those I came in contact with. They gave me a sample menu. So it's not just that everybody gets the same thing for each meal, they have options for each meal. The grounds are very nice, they have a nice, enclosed patio for the resident where they can go and sit. There are various sitting areas. It's one of the newer facilities, and they're remodeling even now, so it's clean.

My client has already moved into Magnolia Court Assisted Living. I am her court-appointed guardian. It was recommended to me by friends of hers. The service seems impeccable. The staff is courteous, friendly, and very helpful. She is still in isolation for Covid so I really have not had a chance to go there yet. It looks like an apartment building rather than a nursing home. It makes people like her more comfortable because she just thinks that she has moved into a different apartment. It was quite clean when I was there. It is close to her older home and it is probably half a mile from a hospital.

My aunt has been a resident of Magnolia Court for four months plus now. It's excellent. I haven't been able to get inside because of the virus. The staff is fabulous. I get along very well with the staff there. They keep me well informed. My aunt likes this community very much. I've had a lot of times outside eyeball-to-eyeball visits with a plexiglass between us. I've also done it over the phone in a room, and at one time, we did it through the front window on the phone. That part has been good at seeing her. She was in the window in the common area when we talked. She likes her apartment. She is quite comfortable at this time. I feel that she's very safe there.

My mother has been a resident of Magnolia Court since March. It's fantastic. They have taken wonderful care of her. They're very knowledgeable and so helpful. They answer my questions and interact with me very good. My mother thoroughly enjoys playing bingo, and to my knowledge, that's about all she cares to do. She is working puzzles with another lady out in the library. They have church service on Sunday morning. Her room is beautiful. She has a 1-bedroom that has a little living room area with a small kitchen and a gigantic bathroom, so it is spacious. There, at the beginning, I was able to have an outside barbecue which I attended, which was very good. For me personally, the couple of times I ate there, they're great. I think it charged too much.

My mom has been a resident of Magnolia Court for a year now. It's excellent. The staff is excellent. They go above and beyond. Particularly during this period of time with COVID, they have really done well. My mom participates in all of the afternoon activities. Prior to COVID, she would go out for dinner with them. She pretty much would participate in any activities that they have. Her room is fine for her. It's small enough that she can get it managed around in there. She doesn't need anything very large. Cleanliness and upkeep is good. It's never perfect; it's good. They're trying to do their best. She is OK with the food.

Our experience with Magnolia Court has been really good. My mother has been there for six years now. It's very good. It's eventually a home away from home. They take really good care of my mom. It's clean. Once in a while, you'll get a new cleaning lady that hasn't figured it out yet, but they work with them. Mom says they take good care of her and she's happy, so I can't ask for more. I used to go up every single day before this pandemic thing, but they're doing everything they can to make sure that the family gets to stay in touch with them as often as they can.
They have a lot available for activities, but Mom is an antisocial person. She'll say she doesn't participate in anything. Before the COVID, they tried to have constant stuff for them to do. They have entertainment, they have bingo, and they have domino bingo. They try to keep them going. They try to make sure they have different entertainment. They got a big TV. Some of the ladies used to get-together and have a TV night. Before the pandemic, I go up there and they would have flags everywhere and the tables set up and they would cater a meal for veterans. Because when you get into that community, it's like a whole another world, and they don't want them to feel isolated. They used to take them places, too. They have a big bus and I know they've taken them to see the fireworks, they'll take them if they want to go Wal-mart or something, and they'll take them to their doctor's appointments. They try to keep them as active as possible so that they don't stagnate or get disassociated with what's going on in the world as best they can.
They have had various cooks in the past. I know their catered meals for everybody is really good. I think they got really good food. They have been great during this pandemic, too. Boy when they said something was happening, they shut the place down and they kept everybody safe. It's been really good. I have been really impressed. They care about the staff. If they get somebody in there that doesn't work really well, then they don't stick around long. They work really hard with the activities. They even have chamber music occasionally, believe it or not.

My mom has been a resident of Magnolia Court for 14 months now. They're absolutely wonderful. It's great. My mom was at two different nursing homes and one assisted living before this, so we have something to compare it with, and this is absolutely the best experience she's ever had. The staff is very caring. They just really go above and beyond. Nobody says, 'Oh that's not my job.' If they need help, they get it. If they ask for help, whoever is there, whether it's the maintenance man, whether it's an aide, whether it's the receptionist, it doesn't matter if it's the director, they stop what they're doing and they help the residents immediately. I have no complaints. The staff is amazing.
Before coronavirus, they would take them out to different activities every week. They have a big van and they can sign up to go on the activities whether it's out to eat or to go shopping. They'll take them to shows and things like that. Of course, with coronavirus, all of that has stopped. My mom does exercise activities and things like that. They have family days every month. With those family days, they'll have entertainment, someone comes in and sings, and they have a group of dancers that come in and perform shows for the residents. They have a lot of activities. Of course, it has been extremely tapered down with the coronavirus. They can't have outsiders coming in there right now.

My mother has been a resident of Magnolia Court since February. It is very good. She always is complimentary of the staff. She plays bingo and different card and dominoes games. They have been able to take just a couple of outings on the bus, and she has participated in those. I haven't tried the food but the majority of it is good, she says. They recently got a new cook who cooks better according to her. The staff members are very nice to her from the administration to the nurses or nurse aides to the maintenance gentleman that's up there to help her with different things in her room, with her TV, with her air conditioner and hanging her pictures and so forth, they're very attentive.

My mother is at Magnolia Court. It has been very positive. She has been there for about six months. As far as I know, she likes the staff. They were helpful. She likes all the activities and she enjoys them quite a bit. Other than when there's lockdown due to COVID, everything else is great. She has never brought anything about the food and I didn't really ask her. She hasn't complained about it. I'm very satisfied with Magnolia Court. It seems like a good value for what's provided, the care level. We don't have any complaints. It is fair.

My mother is doing pretty good. She has been in Magnolia Court for a year now. I don't know a lot of people there because it's been under quarantine for 99.9% of the time. I hadn't gotten the chance to meet everybody like I normally would. The nurse and the manager, I like them very well. I have not seen the room. They won't let me come in. My mother has moved from one room to another. I got a glimpse of her first room and then I've not seen her second room because I'm not allowed to go in. I like everything. She likes it very much and she is hard to please, so that's saying a lot. She likes it. From what I know, I would recommend it.

Our experience with Magnolia Court has been great. My father has been there for a little bit over two years now. The staff is very caring, loving and respectful. His room is nice, clean and plenty of room for him. The living atmosphere is very well kept, very comfortable, pretty and homey. My father participates in the daily exercise, afternoon bingo and brain games. He goes out with them when they can leave the facility. They used to be able to go out for dinner. Before COVID, it was great, and now, they're all stuck there. But I'm very happy with them.

We have been very pleased and very satisfied with everything at Magnolia Court. My father-in-law has been a resident there for about a year-and-a-half now. He is in there for assisted living but we also have a full-time sitter who sits with him. The staff members are very friendly and very cordial. His room is just right, it's just what he needs. We ate a few meals there. They've had a few special occasions there and we have eaten there. Food was good. There are a lot of activities. They do two to three things almost every day with the patients there. They have games, they take them for rides, they have all kinds of music and activities and stuff for them.

My mother is a resident of Magnolia Court. She loves her dwellings there. She loves all the people that run it. They feel like family to her. She came to stay with me at the beginning of COVID because she had to have a throat surgery. It was a different reason for her to leave, but she had to leave and she was here for 14 days. Then we kept her for another 14 days thinking we wanted to make sure because it was during really scary time, and she insisted on going back, and she said, 'No, I'm ready to go back home.' I said OK if she feels safe enough. She goes, 'I just want to be with my friends there. I just love it there.'
My mother does all kinds of things. She's kept up library books there, she attends a little soiree that they have, she participates in all of the holiday meals, and she goes to church there, whatever minister is preaching, she'll go listen to them. They play games, mind games, and cognitive games. They play dominoes, board games, and puzzles. They keep them hopping. She gets tired. She has been there for two years now. They watch out for her. They check on her morning, noon and night. Especially during this COVID thing, they'll come in in the middle of the night to take her temperature; it was so sweet.

Caring staff. Very caring, healthy meals, snacks, varied activities, family atmosphere, church services, bus trips, nurse on duty, also a library with computer station.

Magnolia Court was pretty good. There was a library, and open common areas for people to sit around and visit, but they did not have an activity area. It was clean and modern, and the rooms were spacious and clean.

Magnolia Court is very nice and clean. The staff has been excellent and they take care of my mom. They're very cordial to her and any guests that come visit. They have exercising and some other community activities, like church and inviting outside groups to sing Christmas carols to the residents this time of the year.

I would move in to Magnolia Court tomorrow if I needed to or this afternoon, I was that impressed. It’s fantastic. The staff was very friendly and answered all our questions; they were very efficient. They offer a myriad of activities. I talked to some of the residents, and they have good memories about the place. They were just sitting around visiting, and they showed me different things they did there.

Magnolia Court is quite welcoming. The atmosphere is bright, and cheerful. Their dining area is very nice. It’s very much like a restaurant, and the food is delicious. You can always reserve their private dining room, and you can have your own private, special dinner with your family members. The staff is very caring. They treat my mom like their own mother even though sometimes she’s quite a handful. They treat her very nicely. She’s in an apartment. She has her kitchenette, and bedroom in one area. There’s a living-room area, and her bathroom.
